In Defense of G'raha Tia.
So you're a kid, right, and then there's a war or some shit and you get separated from your homeland but you still get a good education and you rise to the top because you're a talented kid and you get some degrees and you go on a research mission and then the Most Hardcore Person In the World shows up and says they're gonna help you with your reseach project and you're like 20, so you do it and also they're kinda hot but then you go through about seven intense weeks of you and said hardcore awesome person fighting shit and the whole time you're kinda… maybe… attuned to this shit but also the hardcore person is doing most of the work and they're awesome, yeah, and then it turns out that your bloodline is the key to the whole problem and then you do some fights and shit and it turns out there's this big tech that no one knows how to use without destroying the world and you're literally the only one who CAN use it because BLOOD or some shit so you decide that you'd like to lie down and think about it for a bit until folks can use the tech properly and not blow up the world.
Then you wake up and it's actually the end of the world and no one has actually learned how to use the tech properly but it's your responsibility to find a way to make it work (because the world is literally ending, did we mention this) and you're still like 20 but you've been asleep for centuries so everyone thinks you're old and sorry it's your problem now.
And everyone you've ever known is dead and everyone you know now is going to die because the only way they've worked out to fix it is for you to fuck off and leave them to their fate and hope you can ERASE THEIR EXISTENCE in the hope that in whatever future they will have will be better than the miserable one they already have. And they're all TELLING YOU TO DO THIS. They're all saying "our lives are shit enough that we want you to do this". YOU ARE STILL.. TWENTY OR SOME SHIT.
(and there's stories about some person who is great and who saved everyone seven times over but they died when you were in stasis so whatever the fuck)
Any way you do it and then you spend a century in a different world turning into a crystal because you do what you're told. So you work out a plan for how it can be fixed and it's a shitty plan. IT'S A REALLY SHITTY PLAN but the end game of it is that you die so, yeah, actually, that's okay. You've been alive for a fucking long time at this point and dying seems pretty chill, but it does involve hurting that champion person who doesn't deserve it, honestly, doesn't deserve to be put through shit like that but then, neither did you, neither does anyone, and in the end, it's not going to BE them that takes the final blow so it's okay, right? It's only temporary.
And then the hero you've been trying to resurrect for your entire life turns up and there… have been some missteps there, and you probably didn't do it perfectly but now they're HERE. And you follow the plan and it SUCKS. It's AWFUL. Seeing them hurt hurts you on a basic level but the endgame is that YOU TAKE THE FINAL BULLET so you hold on, even though every single step hurts like hell, you HOLD ON because every blow they take is going to be yours in the end. In the end.
And then there's this guy with a gun…
…. and he knows EXACTLY what you've been through.
Wanna make it clear, I absolutely love G'raha, he's my WOL's love interest, they're very happy together, but it's FUCKED UP. And despite Gideon being my most stable and resilient OC she's kinda fucked up for being into him, and him being into her is all kinds of levels of fucked up considering the power dynamics of their... courtship.
WHICH IS WHY I'M INTO HIM.
