Sri Muruganar: The subsidence [i.e. control] of all the instruments of knowledge [karanas] naturally at all times will be possible only when the ego subsides permanently. * Chittam - Of the mind; the finest aspect of mind-field; of the consciousness of the mind-field.
* Turiya - The state of wakeful sleep, (jagrat-sushupti) that is, the state in which we remain ever awake to the real self and ever asleep to the unreal world of multiplicity. Pure Consciousness.
With Goldie back, we continued our journey. We found that rock sign that points the direction to High Pass Hold.
“Woot,” Goldie cheered looking at the rock, “It’s all behind us.”
Triisu looked up a little too hopefully, “We never have to visit the Karana’s again?!”
She really doesn’t like the Karanas does she? We also ran into a werewolf. I’d remember being terrified of them at a lower level, but we took it down easily.
“Since when have there been werewolves in the Karanas?” Goldie asked. Since she wasn’t a ranger, she never experienced the terror of checking the tracking list and seeing a RED werewolf there. I explained that she probably never saw them because they only came out at night. At least, I’m pretty sure.
We made our way down the mountain.
“Frickin mountain.” Goldie grumbled.
When Triisu realized she was in the Karanas, she grumbled too, “2 places I’m sick of in one go.”
Well, we had more to go, but again, I abbreviated to soften the blow.
“To WK.” I said.
“Ah, 4 in one.” Goldie nodded in understanding.
“WK?” Triisu asked. I was actually surprised she hadn’t noticed the pattern yet.
“West Karana of course.” Goldie answered.
Triisu’s reaction, of course, was predictable: “NUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!”
We found some cover to camp in for the night. I really would have preferred an inn with soft beds and a cozy fireplace. I settled for pulling some boxes together to make a bed.
