my bff and i headcanon that startwi takes place in the 80′s so for hikaru i went with an 80′s birthday party chic look, like something a kid would wear to chuck e. cheese.

for lala, i went with a 60′s trouble-in-suburbia stepford-wife-fakeout look where she’s prim & cute but with her natural bestial form. i headcanon that the people of samaan are huge fans of earthling fashion and media, and lala’s favorite era is the 60′s.

for elena, i designed her look with ceremonial mexican skirts and featherwork in mind, and replaced her boots with sandals to echo the relaxed heat of summery days (even tho her subtheme is autumn i know), while also adding more ruffles to make her look more flowery.

for madoka, i made her an 80′s tradgoth crossed with goth lolita, incorporating more crescent imagery by making her outfit look more batlike.

for cure cosmo, i changed her to sakurako bc i originally wanted her to be cosmo. i leaned into the ojousama aspect of her personality and added more sharp edges and triangles to better echo her symbol, and also reintroduced the rainbow by using holographic veils over her shoulders and skirt.
