The crystal kanko are a bit fluffier than the normal rock kanko. They have abnormal horns that seem to be made of crystal. They are asymmetrically shaped. Their pupils are also lighter in color than their iris’. Crystal kanko are born when rock kanko conceive a baby on one of the crystal isles. The magic from the isles affects the baby and they are born a crystal kanko. The colors of the kanko match the island they were conceived on.

They have larger than normal claws as well as eyes to help dig underground. They have shorter and stubbier ears and horns. They are missing the stinger on the tail, it is believed this evolved out to avoid accidentally stinging themselves in the cramped tunnels they live in. They are usually muted browns and greys.

Aside from the mane, a plant kanko’s identifying features are their split, two pronged, horns and their lack of a third claw on their front feet. Plant kanko can come in a range of colors, but greens and browns are the most common.
