The magic from the isles affects the baby and they are born a crystal kanko. The colors of the kanko match the island they were conceived on.

They have larger than normal claws as well as eyes to help dig underground. They have shorter and stubbier ears and horns. They are missing the stinger on the tail, it is believed this evolved out to avoid accidentally stinging themselves in the cramped tunnels they live in. They are usually muted browns and greys.

The plant kanko’s holds magic that is enriching to plants and allows them to thrive and grow while in the mane. Due to this, plant kanko like to grow their favorite plants, usually flowers, in their manes. Aside from the mane, a plant kanko’s identifying features are their split, two pronged, horns and their lack of a third claw on their front feet. Plant kanko can come in a range of colors, but greens and browns are the most common.
