Happy Bunny Day from Ellie and Kami! I wish I got outdoor pics, but I was busy and didn't get a chance to, oops. I made cute springy dresses for them and they got a great haul in the Easter egg hunt (actually the candy was from my bf's grandma, she's really nice and gives all of us Easter baskets, she practically adopted me as a grandkid haha).

I loved how these dresses turned out. Idk, I feel like they might look a bit old fashioned for 2006, but these would be dresses I loved at that age. Ellie isn't usually as dressy, but she likes wearing dresses sometimes, so I made hers not as lacey as Kami's, and made it look sailor style to fit with the SpongeBob print.

I got the little Rainbow Bright and Strawberry Shortcake dolls, so I thought it would be perfect to have Kami play with them, along with her Care Bears and Samantha. Kami is a 2000's girl, but has a lot of 80's toys here, but it makes sense because when I was a kid in the 2000's, Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears became popular again, and I liked a lot of the same cartoons that my Mom watched too.

Today April 8th, I braided all my dolls hair (as well as my own) in honor of Cole Brings Plenty. Cole was a Lakota actor who was found murdered with his hair cut. Rising Hearts has asked that everyone, indigenous or not, wear braids to honor him and remember those that have suffered the same. I even put in small braids for the dolls that have short hair.

So for my last step in my Samantha refurbishing journey, I made her an outfit. I made the dress, bloomers, bow, and stockings, and I had a pair of Mary Jane's sitting around that she could use. I hope her dress looks time period appropriate enough, I mostly looked at pictures of her dress to get a general idea of what to make, but really, I just kinda winged it. She sure looks cute, especially with her hair all done up! Her new hair may be longer than her actual hair is supposed to be, but I love it this way, such pretty long curls. I still hope I can get her meet dress, but I'm in love with this outfit for her.
