Iâm wildly OBSESSED with Kamdenâs Kurt Protection Squadâ˘Â pics particularly the Olympics au concept ones!! For a long time Iâve been wanting to doodle a little something based of this post. Thinking about the squad helping a collapsed from exhaustion Kurt back to his room is so good for my heart, itâs extending my lifespan hehe. Storm is totally the only one here keeping the scene controlled as Logan is ready to shred some invasive cameras and camera people fingers. I enjoy the different Kurt Protection Methods tbh.
âGet yer lens off him ya vulture.â
(sorry no Kitty, I couldnât fit her. Itâs a shame tho because Kitty is like the Captain of the KPS honestly)
As usual, at about teatime Belle brought a trayful of tea, with milk and sugar and a plate of biscuits into the main hall, while Rumpelstiltskin sat at his spinning wheel, with another basket nearly full of shining gold thread. At about the time Belle set the tray down and set about pouring milk into the tea, Rumple got up. With a well-practiced motion, Belle handed Rumple his tea just as he reached the table.
It was about five minutes later that the usual motions of a Tuesday afternoon diverged slightly.
âRumple? Youâre shrinking!â said Belle suddenly.
âWhat?â he looked down at himself. Where his clothes had previously fit perfectly, they now were large tents around him, and he was getting smaller by the minute.
Belle started to laugh at him, but quickly stopped when she found that she was shrinking too. By now, Rumple was scrambling to get up onto a chair, Belle pulled her clothes round her as the room got bigger and bigger.
After a minute or two, both Belle and Rumpelstiltskin had stopped shrinking, and were now standing nervously in the piles of clothes which had fit them not a minute before. There was an awkward silence as they stood, holding up their own clothes around them.
âWhat the hell just happened?â asked Belle.
âWell, dearie, what do you think?â
âCan you magic us big again?â
He made a characteristic swish of his fingers, then looked confused as nothing happened, and swayed slightly on the spot. There was another awkward pause.
âWhat on earthâŚ? Why isnât my magic working on this?â
Rumple looked very befuddled.
âIn the meantime, maybe some fitting clothes?â
This proved much easier, and in a puff of smoke they both found themselves in miniature versions of the clothes they had been wearing not two minutes before.
Belle looked up at the now-huge table above them, where the tea set still lay.
âI donât suppose you can teleport us onto the tableâŚ?â
Again, he gestured, and the surroundings of the two changed to the seat next to the table. Rumpleâs usually gold skin was starting to turn a worrying shade of beige, and he wobbled slightly in trying to stand.
âOn second thoughts⌠I might summon help for thisâŚâ
He clicked his fingers, then promptly fell over in a dead faint.
Many miles away, in a cottage in the woods, Jefferson was teleported two feet to the left.
Meanwhile, back at the Dark castle, Belle was frantically trying to get Rumpelstiltskin to wake up. She knelt next to him and gently shook him, but nothing happened. A brief insane thought that âkissing him might wake him upâ crossed her mind, but her more rational brain pointed out that he was fainting, not drowning, and was breathing fine on his own. She shook him again, and he finally started to stir.
âBelle?â he murmured woozily.
âHow are you feeling?â
âLike a table fell on my headâŚâ he replied unhappily, lifting a hand to rest against his forehead.
âIâm not sure why, but becoming smaller has also reduced the amount of magic I can use, at least without falling overâŚâ
As his usual gold skin colour returned to his cheeks, Belle slowly helped him to stand up. His hand lingered in hers for a couple of moments after he was stable and upright, then abruptly snatched away when he realized he was still holding her hand.
Rumpelstiltskin cleared his throat loudly.
âRight. How are we going to get onto the table?â Belle asked matter-of-factly.
âWe could teleport again, dearie, but Iâll need a couple of minutes to rest afterwards. Youâll have to investigate what happened. I have a sneaking suspicion that it may have been something in the teaâŚâ
He took her hand, made a swishy gesture with the other, and the both again disappeared in a puff of smoke.
As soon as the table beneath them was solid, Rumpelstiltskin quickly sat down, almost dragging Belle down in the process. She quickly let go and righted herself, and looked across at the tea tray. She turned back to Rumpelstiltskin.
âMilk or sugar?â
âI donât know! Check both!â
It took a few minutes for Belle to scramble up the side of the milk jug, but she promptly dropped down again when she saw what was in there.
âThatâs definitely NOT milkâŚâ
She walked back over to Rumpelstiltskin, who was slowly recovering again.
âItâs the milk. Or rather, not-milk. Itâs teal and clear. Have you been storing potions in the pantry again?â
âYou should take more care taking stuff out of the pantry!â he replied snappily.
âWell, storing dangerous potions with food isnât going to help⌠I donât suppose you remember what potion it is?â
âSadly, I do. And I know why my magic didnât work against it. Itâs because itâs magic of another realm.â
âWhich realm?â
âWonderland.â
âOkay⌠do you know the antidote then?â
âPossibly⌠but weâll need the recipe book of other-realm recipes.â
âWait⌠I think I read that last week! I think I know where it is!â
Belle excitedly helped Rumpelstiltskin up, then ran to the edge of the table before stopping abruptly.
Feeling much better now, the Dark One pushed her off the edge of the table, then jumped off himself. A quick spell ensured that they both touched the ground as softly as a feather.
Belle looked slightly shaken for a minute.
âRumple, that was a bit cruel.â
âIâm the Dark One, dearie, what did you expect?â
He started walking off towards the library, and Belle slowly followed.
It took several hours to climb the spiral staircase to the library, and as they walked in the library door, it was getting dark outside. Although Rumpelstiltskin walked confidently across the shadowy floor, Belle was more cautious and flinched away from the darker areas.
âI donât suppose you could light some candlesâŚâ she asked timidly.
âIf you insist, dearieâŚâ
He clicked his fingers, and the main chandelier in the library lit up. He stumbled slightly, then righted himself.
As soon as it was light, Belle rushed off to the left.
âWhere are you going, dearie?â
âTo where I left the book, obviously!â
He quickly hurried after her to a precarious pile of books next to Belleâs favourite reading chair, and both started to climb the pile. However, as they got nearer the top, the pile started to lean⌠and tip⌠and then they and the pile fell over with a resounding crash. Rumpelstiltskin landed on top of Belle with a loud âoofâ. He stayed there for a moment, stunned, until she pushed him off.
âAre you alright?â he asked, unusually quietly.
âYes, Iâm fine.â She replied shakily.
As they got up slowly, Rumpelstiltskin noticed a book in front of them, titled âPotions of Wonderlandâ.
âThat must be the recipe book!â
They worked together to flip through the pages, until they reached a double spread with recipes entitled âDrink Meâ and âEat Meâ. The illustration of the âDrink Meâ potion exactly matched the colour of the what Belle had seen in the milk jug earlier. There was also a note at the bottom: âIf you are not in Wonderland, these will work the opposite way round.â
âThis must be it! If we make this âEat Meâ cake, we should be able to make ourselves normal size again!â Belle said excitedly. Â
It took several more hours (and a nap partway down the stairs for Belle) to get the book down to the kitchen. While Belle was asleep, Rumpelstiltskin also took a small side trip to his potions room to get the more magical ingredients of the cake.
The next morning, they had everything assembled to make the cake. Belle dashed about on the table tossing ingredients into the bowl they used, while Rumpelstiltskin lit the oven and shouted parts of the recipe from the floor. He also grumbled about not having Wonderland mushrooms, which would have done the same trick.
Finally, when the cake was ready, Belle paused before they were about to eat it.
âWait⌠what about our clothes?â
âIâve enchanted them to grow and shrink as we do, dearie.â
She looked at him incredulously.
âWhat? Iâm not about to embarrass myself in front of my maid again!â
She sighed, and took a bite of the cake.
Three days later, Jefferson arrived at the Dark castle, looking somewhat miffed.
âTwo feet to the left? Why?â
Hello! Do you have any suggestions for finding rat breeders or rats available for adoption? I'm from Florida and most of my google searches for rat breeders led to defunct websites, and the only active one I've found has a long waiting list. Are there any good rat forums or other places to look? I'm hoping to adopt some rats in a month or so if possible.
Um there's pet finder, or goose moose, and various animal rescues might have some, or even Craigslist but ofcourse be careful on there. Sometimes you can find facebook groups for rat rescues, or rats in need for your area. As well as various people on here might be looking to rehome rats. I wish you good luck! And if any one else can add some suggestions, please do!
Itâs the 25th of July in my corner of the world, so here we go... my gift for Kamdensl is now on AO3.Â
Itâs called Equilibrium.Â
Kamdenslâs prompt was: Dark Castle when they almost...
Summary:
For almost three decades the city of Avonlea has been visited weekly by a wicked sorcerer. The Dark One ruthlessly claims an offering every week and knows instantly whether or not the gift is of value. When he appears on the doorstep of Maurice French, the merchant tries to buy him off with gold. So instead the Dark One demands his daughter Belle as his price. Bravely, Belle agrees to go with him. But is the Dark One really as dark as people say? And who'll end up paying the price of magic?
It was quite a challenge, because I never really used the Dark Castle as a setting before.
I went slightly AU (okay, a lot) but I hope itâs a nice read nevertheless.Â
I loved being your Santa and participating in this!Â
