After playing the epilogues and reading what Wrathion said, I'm sure they had a very special goodbye date before he departs the isles for more adventure.

Like, I love Anduin, he is My Boy, I adore him utterly, but. But. Wranduin is one of those ships where both parties really need to be putting in the work to make it healthy, it would turn toxic so easily, and with Anduin off having a well-earned mental breakdown I just want Wrathion to be happy, you know?

And Kalec is an absolute sweetheart, and they've already canonicaly discussed how much they have in common, how they are both heirs to tainted legacies who have vowed never to become like their predecessors. Who love these strange, fragile mortal races that the rest of their kind so often despise. Who put on brave fronts of confidence because it's what their roles demand, but who are crushingly aware of the potential cost of failure.

Kalec is older and wiser and steadier than Wrathion, and I think he could help shoulder some of that weight, that burden of being Aspect of a Flight that refuses to listen to your guidance. I think Wrathion could help Kalec too, remind him that they have to keep forging ahead, help him keep his eyes on the future when the past gets a little too heavy. They're both a little bit broken, and I can't stop myself from thinking how all those jagged edges might fit together really, really beautifully.
