Erika Toda 戸田恵梨香 (as Jogo) Hikari Mitsushima 満島ひかり (as Ogin) A heartwarming friendship between a concubine and an ironworker. They escape to a Buddhist temple called Tokei-ji in Kamakura. From the historical drama, KAKEKOMI 駆込み女と駆出し男 (2015) Tokei-ji was a place of refuge for women abused by men. It took in women during the Kamakura until the Meiji period. That operation lasted almost 500 years (1280s-1873).

A tale of Tokei-ji, a buddhist temple in Kamakura where women seek refuge from abusive men. Women from all walks of life, from a mistress, a courtesan, a wife to a Samurai, came to be a nun, find solace, heal and learn to defend themselves. After two years, they are given a choice to stay being a nun for life or return to secular life.

タイトルに惹かれてレンタルしちゃったらまたもや因縁の原田眞人監督作品「駆け込み女と駆け出し男」
原作は井上ひさしの「東慶寺花だより」
江戸時代。男から女に離婚を言い出すのは簡単。でも女から男に離婚を言い出すのはご法度だったそんな時代に、唯一の女性からの離婚を支援した東慶寺(鎌倉)。
秀吉・家康ゆかりの天秀尼がその強大な力を持って、幕府ですら口を出せない鎌倉の尼寺として君臨しているわけなんだけど
天保の改革、で有名な水野忠邦の倹約令の時代がこの作品の舞台。
満島ひかり演じるお吟(骨董品屋の妾)と戸田恵梨香演じる鉄打ちの嫁じょごがその東慶寺に駆け込むところから物語は始まるわけなんだけど
樹木希林がその駆け込み女たちの面倒を見たり、離婚の審査をしたりする御用宿の亭主を
その甥で医療を目指しつつ、戯作作家志望でもある信次郎を大泉洋が
番頭、利平を木場勝己、その嫁をキムラ緑子が演じていてまぁいい配役でした。
主役は大泉洋と戸田恵梨香なんだろうけれども周りをね堤真一やら武田信治やら北村有起哉が固めててね
山崎努も締めるとこ締めててね
いつもならあれだけの数の名優を集めておいてなんか消化不良な感じがしてた原田作品で久々に気持ちよくみんな自分の仕事出来てた気もします。
東慶寺に駆け込んでくる女たちの物語と、御用宿の人々、東慶寺の秘密、なかなか良いバランスでした。ちょっと泣けたり、ちょっと笑ったりね。
玉虫のくだりだけ早く終わりすぎてわかんなかったけどてへぺろ。
時折入る、江戸の娯楽、歌、言葉、なんかが通好みなんだろな。私にはわかんなかったけど。
歴史物が好きな知識のある人にはもっと楽しめそうな、そんな映画かと。

『駆込み女と駆出し男』Kakekomi(2015)
高級座敷寿司
One of my favorite scenes in Kakekomi: Jogo comforting O-Tane after an encounter with a drunken samurai brought back a traumatic experience. Jogo didn't know anything about O-Tane, not about her past, her story or why she couldn't speak, and yet it is Jogo's gentleness and empathy that provided a safe space for the other woman. And this is essentially what is meant by women's refuge. It is less a place, and more the feeling of safety forged by the camaraderie and solidarity of women together.
