KakaYama

Yamato is mostly being spoiled with complimente and praise. Kakashi knows he likes that stuff (he uses it against him to convince him to pay for lunch that one time in the manga) and trinkets don’t go anywhere with Yamato (he doesn’t like clutter or objects). He also makes homemade meals, but Yamato feels the most loved with compliments and praise so that’s the route Kakashi takes

KakaAnko

Trinkets and specificlly dango. That’s the quickest and most effective way to Anko’s heart. Also, being a lil shit. She loves it.

KakaBaki

Home-cooked meals and treats from Konoha. Baki espeshally loves when he walks into his apartment to find Kakashi there making food. Is he annoyed he broke into his home (again)? A little. Is it worth it for the yummy home cooked meal? Absolutely

KakaIru

KakaBaki because in my Collage professor’s au they’re both history professor’s and one of their favorite pass time’s is arguing about how their paper’s/information is wrong XD

But also i can see this working for a few

KakaObi with a literature focus. Kakashi loves romances, Obito loves drama’s, and those two cross over each other often so there are arguments about the meaning/understanding of certain books (or sometimes shows XD)

RinShiz they’re both doctor’s with niche smills (shizune with poison’s, rin with surgery) so you bet there would be some conversations

GaiKisa. I think they’d both have a lot of knowledge about sports and physical therapy and it would lead to a lot of arguments because they simply don’t agree. Like they watch a football* game together and end up arguing over a yellow card call because Kisame thinks it wasn’t actually ‘unsporting behaviour’ but Gai fully agree’s with the ref and think’s it might even go to red card if the player keeps arguing and that’s justified in his opinion.

Morning rituals

Wake up, kiss goodbye and rush out the door.

It’s nothing extravagant but both of them like to get an early start on the day and prefer to spend their time together at night.

If they have a little extra time they’ll make breakfast and just relax for a bit. Usually Kakashi cooks while Baki takes care of organizing his day and cleaning up (dishes, wiping the counter, etc)

Night rituals

Dinner together sitting side by side, a little chat about their day (usually doesn’t last more than five minutes), some time cuddles up on the couch reading together.

A nice relaxing night together is all either of them wants and they’re going to make use of every second they have.

When it’s time to get ready for bed they have a nice cup of tea together, change into night clothes, and curl up in bed together. There’s about five minutes of cuddling before one of them’s out cold and the fight for the blankets begins (Baki usually wins but Kakashi also has a separate blanket just for him in case)

What do their texts look like?

Short and to the point.

Neither of them want to be explaining too much and if they need to have a deeper conversation they’ll call each other.

KakaBaki

Oh my beloved crack ship. I don’t even remember why i came up with this, i just knew i Saw Baki and Thought ‘yes, this is cute’

Kakashi is a troll and he feeds off of bothering Baki and seeing just how stressed he can make him. An impossible feat considering the man trained Kankuro. Kakashi cannot compete with that level of annoying, but he’ll sure as shit try while keeping a cool exterior the entire time.

Whenever Gaara goes to Konoha for a visit, Baki tags along. Not because he wants to see the Hokage, he has better things to do. He could just use a break from the heat in Suna.

Kakashi is a pure romantic and Baki is not ready. This man makes them dinner, plans beautiful dates, waxes poetics. Baki was done for the first time Kakashi asked him out and offered to cook and Kakashi hasn’t given him a chance to get over him since then.

ShikaCho

Ino is constantly teasing them for being the ‘best friends to lovers’ trope but she adores it. She thinks these two are the cutest and the only couple in all of Konoha that can compete is her and her partner, obviously.

Shikamaru is the only person who is allowed to just reach over and steal chips from choji. It’s how everyone knows they’re meant to be. Shikamaru doesn’t need to be offered and has never risked losing an arm just taking.

Their favorite pass time after all these years is still laying in the grass looking up at the clouds eating chips. They’re adults with a whole lot of responsibility of course, but they always find time to stare at the clouds together.

Baki? Well, that certainly seems like an...interesting choice. Though I will admit, I don’t know a whole lot about him. Baki has always had his focus on Suna, and particularly on helping Gaara when he became Kazekage. It’s rare for him to come to Konoha unless absolutely necessary, and I think part of that is because of what happened with Hayate.

From what I do know of him, Baki is a stern work-focused Shinobi. His main goal is to help protect Suna, which makes sense. I’m not sure about what he’d be like as a partner, or even what his preference in partners is. So I’m not sure I can give detailed thoughts about this pairing for me. Still, I’ll give it a try.

Based on the little I do know about him, I would say that Baki is a good partner. Protective and loyal, he would certainly be someone that I would find comfort in returning home to.

The major problem would be the distance of course. I live in Konoha, Baki lives in Suna, and I don’t think he’s going to move to be here in Konoha with me. Since I have a responsibility to my village, and no real desire to move to Suna, it would prove difficult to maintain a relationship. This doesn’t mean we couldn’t do it. I think if both of us really wanted the relationship to work out, we could make it. I don’t need my partner with me every night to be happy. The nights that would have together would be even more special.

In the end, I’m not sure how well we would work out. I think I would need to get to know Baki a bit better to get a feel for the type of relationship we might have. Something that I wouldn’t mind at all.

Kakashi/Baki

· Kakashi feels bad for the feelings he has the first time he starts to recognize them. Falling for the man who killed Hayate was not in the plans, but here he is. He can’t help the way that Baki’s voice gives him butterflys, or how one look from Baki has him cemented in place. He doesn’t know why his heart has chosen this one. All he can do is hope his friends don’t hate him for it when he finally manages to gather up the courage to actually ask Baki out on a date.

· Lazy mornings are an absolute must with these two. Waking up slowly and watching as Kakashi nuzzles up close to him is one of Baki’s favourite things, and Kakashi loves being able to wake up with Baki’s scent still there in front of him. When the two of them are together, everyone else knows for a fact that they won’t be getting out of bed early, and they learn to live with that because it’s worth it. To see the soft smile on Kakashi’s face when he finally makes it out of the room, or the way Baki looks more relaxed when he finally makes it to a meeting. To see these two actually relaxed and soft for even just a moment is worth a hundred hours of tardiness, and for Kakashi’s friends it’s nothing new. If anything, Baki has him out of bed and meeting with them in a much more timely manner.

Kakashi pulls all the stops. He wants date night with Baki to be amazing. Baki deserves a nice break, and Kakashi's going to do everything that he can to make sure that it is.

A nice place to eat

even a night time hang out in their favorite training field, looking up at the stars and just talking.

It's going to be perfect

until...it's not.

Kakashi ends up getting food thrown all over him when some poor soul trips on their way by him and decorates his entire front with their scolding hot food.

When they try to go for their walk, they find themselves in a crowd for a festival that both of them had completely forgotten about, and Kakashi immediately starts feeling overwhelmed.

By the time they finally make it to the training field, Kakashi's ready to call it a night and he fully expects Baki to break up with him then and there. He made the worst possible date night ever, so obviously Baki is going to dump him and find someone better.

except, as soon as they walk into the training field Baki just looks at him and smiles that stupid pretty smile that makes Kakashi's knees go weak and tells him that they could look up at the stars for the rest of the night

which is exactly what they end up doing until they pass out, Kakashi laying with his head on Baki's chest, ear pressed against him listening to his heartbeat while he slowly falls asleep.

It's unusually quiet in Suna. Perhaps because Gaara is away visiting Konoha, or just the fact that they were at peace now.

There was no war to be fought. No pressing issues

Just calm.

"you look pleased with yourself," cracking an eye open, he smiled when he saw Baki standing over him. A soft look on his face. "Don't tell me you think you saved the world."

"not at all," he was just as much in need of help as anyone else, falling victim to Madara's plan while Itachi and his team took care of the enemy. "Just thinking."

"about?"

"retirement," finally Temari was old enough to take the mantel of Kazekage. He was free. The world was his playground for the first time in his life. "What to do with my new freedom."

"and? Any ideas yet?"

"just a few," a list, actually, but it still needed some tweaking. "And you?"

"isn't that much obviouse?" Baki rolled his eyes "Temari needs someone responsible here to help her."

True, but not the answer he was looking for.

"of course, I do think a vacation is in order. A little trip, perhaps."

The look in Baki's eyes tells him to plan it for him, and he's happy to do it.

After all, he can already see them curled up by a river in the land of fire together. Or enjoying a nice tea in the land of earth.

Wherever it was, he knew one thing.
