Without a Doubt | Kaichirou | 3.3
Kaichirou idly runs his hands through his hair, glancing from person to person. He quietly analyzes the room, and his chances of- well...
No point in hiding it now. He lets out a long, dramatic sigh.
"How pointless it is of me to hide it like this. You all knew it was me from the moment you realized someone was murdered, didn't you? With the circumstances we were under... My, I felt so targeted!"
He held a hand lightly to his chest, daintily expressing woe in an act of mockery.
"Even those I spoke to at the time thought little of me, constantly crooning in my ear... 'Why don't you kill someone, Kaichirou? We know you want to.' I hope you feel responsible for this, because you're at fault here, too. You put this plan into motion. I would never have done it if you hadn't told me to."
His lips curl back into a wide grin, beaming at the rest of the group. His eyes meet Jianjun's in particular.
"I recognize this is a positive for some of you. And I congratulate those people for it. I hope you follow soon in my footsteps."
Now expressing that thought, Kaichirou's eyes meander about the area with slight boredom as his hands return to his hair.
"Regardless, I suppose there is a pressing question to be asked here. And I'll do us all a favor by asking it first, which is... Do I put my own vanity above a human life?"
Before answering the question, he laughs. It's a practiced laugh, meant to emulate the jingling laughter of an actor trying to be handsome, or a performer attempting to stay elegant. Just as much as it sounds beautiful, it sounds hollow. There is no passion nor emotion that lies beneath, and a glimpse into Kaichirou's unbothered eyes confirms an empty void barely hidden inside.
"Of course I do. Without it, I am nothing."
