nice concern trolling. we can't critique anders' emotionally abusive behavior on our own blogs without his fans coming out of the woodwork and yelling about how he's mentally ill/oppressed/whatever the fuck (as if that excuses it), and to be honest the vitriol gets pretty extreme. so i'd like to ask you, concerned anon -- where exactly should we talk about our problems with this character?

♒ Thoughts on the fandom you’re currently rping in?

The Good!

I have met some really cool people in the Pokémon RP community. I love two Giovanni RPers I’ve run into (anybody who can RP a convincing Giovanni is amazing IMO; I could not do it) and I’m amazed that I look forward to threading with them because…who would have ever thought I’d be RPing opposite a Giovanni?! Also, OOC one of them is a SUPER AWEsoME AND LOVELY PERSON and they are also my age almost exactly which is…amazing…holy shit.I’m enjoying a few OCs in an RP community, too, for the first time…ever, basically. People are pretty creative with their protag characters and with various other OCs they make up; I think it’s a lot of fun to see what people have come up with and roll with it. This one OC is a former Aether Foundation architect who is in hiding from them; another is a kind of shamanistic girl from an unknown region and there’s a slight language barrier between our characters; then there’s a scientist from Devon Corp., and gosh, some really adorable Moon RPers!

I can’t forget to mention the Looker Squad: three different people who RP three very different versions of the same character. God bless creative license, I say. He’s flimsy enough a character to be shaped many different ways, and these guys manage to make their version theirs! Even though I haven’t RP’d with all of them yet, I gotta say I love reading everything they write, which is honesty rare for me in Tumblr RP. I mean, I’m definitely reading their threads with other people. They’re that good. (I won’t tag you but you guys know who you are.)

It’s a pretty active fandom, too. Which is great!

The Bad

Not many people are into serious threading, which is kind of a letdown. There’s a ton of potential in this series to RP all kinds of settings and genres, and it seems a good part of the fandom wants to stick with one-off meme replies with no continuation. I get that not every thread will carry forward well, especially without consistent communication by the writers involved, but…still.

A lot of blogs are made, RP’d in for two days while they amass 100+ followers, and are abandoned without a word forever.

Way too many OOC posts by the muns. Way too many OOC character posts/crack.

Sexual Sunday (Sinday) is this big thing that I literally cannot stand because I know the dash will be flooded with untagged garbage and characters reacting to other characters posting nudes and shit. Sometimes even with the Sun/Moon protags. GROSS???

Feels cliquey as fuck sometimes? I don’t care if you only RP with like, one other person, but for the love of God, don’t promo yourself every other second if you’re planning on just RPing with one pal.

The Fucky

Too many gijinka blogs. They creep me out, probably because I’ve seen too much on the Internet in my years and I can’t deal with the concept. It feels fetishy to me. No thanks.
