Just realized I never posted the finished pieces đ. Two new Mabari Mugs (Mugbari?) plus a bonus pic of their little feetsies as they get their post-firing bath!
Ferelden: Redcliffe - Present
Main quest: Â In Hushed Whispers
The Ferelden monarchy offered the rebel mages sanctuary in Redcliffe. The mages accepted the offer but the Templar pursued them across the border. As the brutality of the Mage-Templar War escalated, many hunted rebel mages and apostates congregated to Fiona's refuge in Redcliffe village. Some of these mage refugees were in fact Venatori infiltrators who encouraged an alliance with the Tevinter Imperium as the situation with the mage rebellion grew dire.
This post has compiled the most relevant information during the main quest for completionâs sake. Most of the time these quests have little âarchaeologicalâ value, but since Iâm visually covering the majority of the game, I canât put them aside since some of them are key in the lore, and in terms of objects, statues and ruins, such as the Temple of Mythal.

Wow, this game really is just an OTP simulator, huh?
I present to you, Warden-Commander Kieshara Tabris and Lady Leliana. Being cute as heck.
Also, hereâs their dog, who I definitely did not name Dogmeat, and I also definitely didnât give him Garrusâ face paint as part of the kaddis warpaint. No siree. (Yes I did, I did both of those things)
Do you know anything about the kaddis Dog can wear in Origins? Because some are for Avaar gods (the Ash Warriors use one to invoke Korth! I had no idea), and one is called "Trickster" and is said to be ancient and date back to Dane and the Werewolf. It's making me thing of Fen'harel. What do you think?
So Iâve searched and searched through all the expanded lore materials I have, and cannot find much of anything on kaddis, other than whatâs already in the game; that itâs war paint for mabari to give them enhancements on the battlefield, and helps them tell the difference between allies and enemies.
Reading all the item descriptions of the different kaddis designs though, it seems that most of them are of reverence to the old Alamarri gods. Which would make sense, given that if they do date back to Dane, that it would be the Avvar and Chasind who still have the strongest knowledge of the traditional designs. And according to the Dogs of War codex entry from DA:2, the Chasind did/do indeed use mabari in battle.
As far as if thereâs a Fenâharel connection... I donât think so. But I guess itâs possible.
TBH My biggest question about kaddis tbh is how is it made?! Because I know on a gameplay level it makes sense to grant different effects, but how?Â
