Jael replied. "I think that they have no fear of it." They all contemplated this quietly for a moment before someone yawned. "Jarra how about a story before we all doze off, huh?" Lathamn asked. "What kinda story?" Jarra inquired. "How about something scary," Milly jumped in, "maybe a tale of the Nephilum? Have you read anything new about them? Didn't you get a new book when that last trade vessel was docked in Kar?" "I did, but there was nothing on the Nephilum in that book." Jarra said thoughtfully. "I haven't got any stories to tell you about them that I haven't told you before." "Then how about another story of King Bendar Issin, and his Elite Fire Guard?" Milly asked excitedly. "I don't mind if we've heard it before. I sure would love to have one of those staves. If they were real that is." She chuckled. It was just like her to long after things that boys normally would, such as weapons, new hunting gear, and the like. After a little thought Jarra began his tale, and the boys listened for as long as they could. Jarra was some story teller, and could go on for hours.
