I find it funny how Hollis's apperance is the opposite of how he is. He's described as more pretty than handsome by Walt, so I imagine it's because he has relatively softer facial features compared to other guys. He has freckles all over his face and body, light brown short hair, and dark green eyes. Walt also thinks his mom's perfume fits him better compared to his dad's. And while he's really tall, he's still relatively lean.
Apperance alone, he sounds like he'd be kind of a gentle, soft spoken guy. Your typical softy shy boy.
But no. He then proceeds to be an absolute, shameless menace that leaves you wondering if you should root for him at times just from how freaky and weird he gets. But hey, he's still a decent guy, he's just a liiiittle bit rough around the edges, ok? I love him so much.
And the audiobook enhances this by so much. I love the grouchy voice the narrator gave Hollis. Really adds to the juxtaposition of Hollis's soft looks compared to how he is. So worth it getting both the book and audiobook.
