The Juzam's Meow
BAAAAACK in the day, Juzám Djinn was the cat's meow. 4 mana for a 5/5? In STONE AGE magic? Come on now, you'd sell your grandma for this kind of power.
Along with moxen and time walks, he was obscenely rare. The only time you would see one is from some older collector who had money.
Much like other old school cards, WotC would always try and reproduce it in a more balanced package. So any creature for 4 mana that was a 5/5 or bigger with a drawback, became known as "a juzam".
The first attempt at such a reprint was Balduvian Horde in Alliances. I remember everyone freaking out because it WAS a "new juzam". The problem was you had to RANDOMLY discard a card, and it was totally vulnerable to Terror!
Juzam LAUGHED at Terror.
Tempest saw Rathi Dragon. He was a monster in burn decks.
Emperor Crocodile was probably the easiest to play juzam.
The list goes on with imitations and potential improvements. My two personal favorites are Grinning Demon and Iwamori of the Open Fist.
Flash forward to 2011. You might have heard of the latest rule changes for M12 and possibly seen the preview cards.
It's a Hill Giant right? 4 mana 3/3...Bloodthrist TWO. Hmm, wait a minute...it's a juzam in disguise!
It's also a COMMON. I think the last common imitator was Blastoderm? Whatever the case may be, these warriors are totally awesome.
