Tell me about your favorite CL pairing :) And if it's not OddRich, I also want to hear about your vision for OddRich too!

AHHH this is an evil question for a multishipper!! Funny enough I used to only ship Jerlita, Ulumi, Oddlita, and Odd/Sissi (very original I know), not because I didn’t like any other pairing, but literally because I had never thought of them. But after I joined the fandom, I feel like my eyes have been opened to all the possibilities.

I don’t think I have just one favorite :’) But I literally ship everyone with Jeremie. Every LW, including William, and I could be talked into shipping him with some of the other students, too. I also love polyshipping all 5 (or 6) of them together, and the JerOddLita polyship. Then there’s Oddlita, Yumlita, Oddrich, Herve/Nicolas (which you literally sold me on), Yumi/Sissi, Aelita/Sissi, WillOdd – I also ship Odd/Sam (Knight), purely because they seem to like each other and I’m interested in their dynamic. But the show itself doesn’t give us much.

For Oddrich, I think you hit the nail on why I love them so much. “Too comfortable” is the perfect way to describe them. I think with a lot of the other ships, there can be a lot of awkwardness, or some UST, or just very adorable fluff (all of which I love of course), but I feel like Oddrich’s dynamic would be soo comfortable and casual. Like “blur the line between friendship and romance” comfortable. They’re just them.

I don’t know if this was a cop-out answer, so I’m going to share some of the fics that sold me on some of the pairings above:

Titre pas encore donné by quiter10 sold me on Jerich (up until then I thought the idea was cute but had never seriously considered it)

amaranthine by dame_de_la_chance sold me on Jerodd (similar to above, thought it was cute but never really considered it)

Triple Trouble by dame_de_la_chance sold me on JerOddLita (honestly inevitable after shipping Jerlita, Oddlita, and Jerodd)

Without Words by Skye sold me on Yumlita (LOVED their friendship in the show and wish it’d been shown more; I’m surprised I’d never shipped them before)

YOUUU sold me on Herve/Nicolas with your zoo idea, and your fic Two Sugars. How dare you make me add more ships to my ever-growing list.

And honestly there are so many more authors and fics I love, some of them shippy and some not. To shout-out some more authors: Coolgirl526 (not sure if they’re on tumblr?), @vexfulfolly, @yoshistack, @souljellied (I ADORE your “Sissi finds the supercomputer” AU!!), @lunarraven56 and still more! I’m really impressed by you all not only being great writers but also keeping the characters’ voices and portraying them so accurately! I truly feel blessed by this fandom <33

Jeremie/Ulrich is a top-tier one for me, all the little nuances of their relationship that you've got to dig a little deeper for when watching the show, but are most definitely there. They have a quiet, respectful rapport and mutual support that's just *chef's kiss* opposites attract, indeed!

Jeremie/Odd for different yet similar reasons as above.

Sissi/Aelita has so much potential I feel, for all the odd parallels and interesting contrasts between them. They each have so much that the other envies, and that's forever interesting to me.

Sissi/Sam (Suarez) is wild but I'll forever be thinking about Strawberry Sauce for making it so real to me, A++ fic

Odd/Herve is something I think about, don't ask me why I just see something in them!

Patrick Belpois/Odd, and Aelita/Lise because there's nothing I love more than spinning in-depth tales about characters who show up for like 0.2 seconds *affectionate fist clench*

Franz/Jean-Pierre because maybe something happened in the thousands of loops on June 6th 1994, who are we to say otherwise?? (there's a five-year WIP in my fics folder that wants to be heard, oops)

3. If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next by Manic Street Preachers for a post-XANA, post-Kadic au where some bad guys are trying to rebuild XANA as a weapon blah blah I think I’ve told you about it.

Headcanons for Rosa Petitjean: I know that she (and Jim) is kind of bumbling for the comedic effect but I have a few more serious headcanons for her. In BMR she’s Ulrich’s family’s nanny/caretaker/maid and Ulrich feels like she’s the only thing that kept him emotionally tethered. He kind of relies on her presence as a tool to keep him from turning out like his dad, which he would never turn out that way but for him she’s like the mother figure who keeps him in line. In general I think she has so much potential as a mother figure to the kids in fanfiction (I believe it was @yoshistack who wrote a story about the teachers noticing the bruises on the LW’s which I definitely think Rosa would notice…like imagine if Odd was bruised up and one day didn’t have an appetite??? She’d notice) and I think she’d especially care a lot for Odd and Ulrich. In turn I think they’re fond of her, too.

Advice: Well…when I figure that out I’ll let you know. I think the reason I have so many ideas but not a lot of writing to show for it is because I will have to build back up to the writing level and style I had in the last few chapters of BMR. I think that writing was amazing and I psych myself out that I’ll never be that good again. I think starting off first with reading more, and then outlining, and then working your way up to fleshing stuff out is really beneficial to get back into it.

Favorite thing about them: In canon it has to be his protectiveness over his friends. Like, he is The Protector, The Fighter, of the group. I love that about him.

Least Favorite thing about them: Jealousy, for sure. It gets a little old after a while, and he can be sooooo moody. I love a little moodiness but sometimes it gets to a point…

Favorite line: “I’ll knock your block off, you dumb block head!”

brOTP: Can I say both Oddrich and Jerrich? Oddrich obviously I also ship but them as friends first and foremost is just so so good. And then I really do think Jeremie and Ulrich are like…very close. We see inklings of it here and there in canon, but yeah :’)

OTP: Ulumi (Ulrich/Yumi), with Oddrich (Odd/Ulrich) as a close second.

nOTP: Probably Jerrich (Jeremie/Ulrich). There’s honestly not a lot of people I won’t ship him with, though.

Random Headcanon: He’s dyslexic. He also struggles with worrying that he’ll turn out abusive like his father is, so when he’s moody or his temper flares I definitely headcanon that he needs to go cool off and be by himself and have a think on all of that.

Unpopular Opinion: Fuccckkkk idk??? As we allllll know I’m super opinionated and mostly stick to my sandbox versions of them? I guess while I love Ulumi I don’t always think that’s the best ship for him because of the way the show runners made all the drama. But that’s why we have fanfic to make Ulumi better and also ship him with half the cast!

so, as of late, whenever i get even a singular iota of an idea, i create a new doc in my drive. even if i have no clue what the actual story or plot will be...

but! i'd love to write a sweet Cleon no outbreak AU. Claire has a summer job at a music store. Leon's a photographer on the side. sparks fly.

12. a trope you're really into right now

okay so this is more for reading, and i'm not sure how much of a trope this actually even is, but i love a slow-burn, high-stakes mystery right now, specifically where one character is targeted. what happens beforehand, how they're eventually caught, how they're eventually found.

writing wise, i guess it would be a dramatic rescue? i've always loved those. so much whump and h/c, the relief and love in their person finally being found safe, but not always whole. ugh, so, so much fun to write i think.

29. how easy is it for you to come up with titles

tbh i feel like i've gotten worse at titles, but i feel like that's because i've slowed down my writing quite a bit over the last like 8 months (sadly).

i'm a lyric title girly about 90, 95% of the time. usually, once i finish a fic, i try to brainstorm my favorite songs i know that fit the vibe, and then i just search through their lyrics until i find one that sticks. but, the opposite still happens quite often, where i start writing a fic and i know from the first word what the title will be.

regardless of my own feelings on how easy it used to be/is to come up with titles, let the record reflect that i absolutely love titling things. fics, songs, poems, anything. they hold so much weight and so much promise, to draw the listener/reader in and then open up the entire concept. there's something very strong and lovely about a title that just gets me, so i do choose them all very intentionally :)
