Sometimes, When you strike a match, You don’t notice it’s lit

Sometimes, You forget that there is kindling already there And add more on top

Drop a cigarette onto the ground Forget to grind it out with your heel The tip burns and burns, Red hot turning into ash black

And then, One day

It all goes up into flames

Matches on top of matches until one finally catches And the whole thing ignites In a fiery bonfire you can’t control

Rage upon hatred upon injustice Building up inside until there is the final straw

A fire burns You don’t notice it sometimes

By then, it’s too late
