One ink with different behaviors? In yesterday’s post on @tonoandlims’ Flight of the Bumblebee, an insoluble dye is clearly visible when the bottle is shaken and it makes the ink opaque in the bottle.💛🐝 . Today’s pictures of samples on @wellappointeddesk Col-o-ring Oversize notebook paper show that though there is a visible difference when the ink is wet and heavily saturated, there size of nib has more of an impact than the dye.🤔 . Top sample is written with the very wet @FranklinChristoph Music nib in a P66 inked from a bottle not at all shaken using an eye dropper and only taking ink from the top of the bottle. The ink is lovely golden ocre and well saturated. Yet as we swipe to the second picture, the drop becomes yellow when dried.💛✒️ . The sample below is written with the @opus88writing Koloro Demonstrator Colors with a 1.5 nib and eyedroppered with a shaken ink bottle. Clearly the ink looks more yellow but is fully legible. So the nib is a bigger factor than the dye in terms of saturation. Regardless, the drops of fresh ink are dark, as is the result when these drops are dried. 🖋💛 . Since i used a tissue to clean up a little mess I made, I added a drop of water for some quick chromatography on the last picture. Clearly, this is a simply Amber yellow beauty. 💛 . I like it in both pens. This is an excellent yellow ink for writing titles, highlighting key points and art. 🤓😍 . It is also a scented ink... more about the scent soon. It’s a complicated topic. 👃☺️ .
