Cherry red blood that would spill from the violet-haired girls mouth and she would lap up like a dog, much to the other’s disgust.

It didn’t happen often, much to the detective’s thankfulness, as she was constantly on the receiving end with bites and bruises that littered her lips and marked her neck in the most obvious of places. The model would graze her teeth none too gently across her jugular, drawing thin, delicate lines of red that broke free the faint smell of copper. She’d bite down against her collarbone, bruising pale flesh in bursts of blue and purple.

It was like she was marking her territory, painting the detectives skin in crimsons and blues for everyone to see she had been there. For the world to know that the girl was hers, from her neck; to her lips and to other places it wouldn’t see.

Much to the other’s disapproval.

Another coating of the cherry red cover, the model flashes herself a grin in the bathroom mirror, flicking her hair across her shoulder with a dramatic flair that she carried with all her actions. A quick onceover, she blows herself a kiss before stepping out of the small, compact bathroom. Gliding her hand over the door frame and leaning against it with a loud sigh as a declaration of her being done.

Baby blue meet lilac, and she grins without hesitation. Cocky and full of herself she walks around the shorter girl who owned the unmistakable lilac hues, before settling with her hands on her shoulders as her manicured nails dig slightly into the worn leather of the other girl’s jacket. A breathy sigh against the others ear as she leans her weight against her back, nuzzling into her hair as the distinct smell of gunpowder and lavender fill her senses.

“Sorry I took so long Kyouko, darling~ You would not believe how hard it is to find a good red to suit my tone~”

Her words drip with sweetness, a tactic she often used to suck up to Kyouko after one of their more… brutal events. It never really worked however, as she shrugged her off without hesitation, prying the fingers from her shoulders and turning on her heel to face her. The obvious swelling of the girl’s lower lip was splashed a deep shade of purple, and the attempts at covering it up had done little to do so, as she was far less skilled than the model when it came to makeup.

With a hardened glare and a slight frown, Kyouko sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as the model grinned apathetically back at her. The smug look never leaving as the detective clasped the cold steel around her right wrist, before doing the same to the left of her own.

It had become a routine, so to speak. The model would taunt and tease while the other would clasp the handcuffs firmly to her wrist, securing the other half to her own before Junko would, without fail, brush away the hair that framed her face and kiss her softly on the lips she bruised hours before.

It was always tender, in an almost loving fashion, and it was acts like this that would confuse her greatly, leaving her pondering for minutes before the model would break with a comment that accented her usual self.

And without fail, the model pushed back the shorter girl’s fringe, free hand cupping her cheek as she pressed her lips to hers in a soft kiss. It was brief, as it always was, and she pulled away still baring that smug grin, which had softened ever so slightly. Just enough that a trained eye would pick up on, and the detective’s frown deepened, before she brushed the girls hand away as she did before.

At this point they would leave, the blonde following behind as she went about her daily tasks around the Future Foundations office building, having been left in the girl’s guard as she awaited trial for all the things she had done.

But today Kyouko broke ritual.

“Why do you do that?”

Her words are cold per her nature, and they catch the model off guard, who dons a frown that matches the detectives own. Her eyes flicker ever so slightly and lock onto lilac securely, having lost the previous spark of mischief they held moments before. Several weighted seconds pass aimlessly, staring into the other’s eyes without waver; before the model’s own soften and a smile equally as soft blooms across her features. Her words are lacking the false sweetness from before, but the usual underlining manipulation they bare as well. They’re sincere, sweet; a tone the detective had only heard her use with her sister a few times before.

“Because I love you.”

Silence falls the minute those words leave her lips, and the detective stares at the smile on the other’s features; at the baby blue eyes that held the feeling a mass murderers should not. She turned her eyes downcast, breaking the contact before flicking towards the door, avoiding the other’s.

“Oh.”

Her voice is as clear as it was when she asked her question, unfaltering and emotionless, and the model sighs lightly, before clasping her hand in hers, handcuff clinking loudly against its pair and the usual air of smugness returns to her features.

“And you look cute when you’re confused.”

And there fell the usual comment that would break her confusion, and with a roll of her eyes the detective walked towards the door, pulling the other girl with her sharply as she swiped her key card and pulled the other through the door with her, hands still interlocked firmly with no movement to break on either end.
