I do eventually wanna do the whole song but wanted to get something out before the final episode.
I'm so sad that I've gotten into it so late {the season 2 cliffhangerhas so much fanfic potential}, but that just proves I got too pampered with joining fandoms in their middle or beginingT^T

Vanessa never dreamed of becoming a part of the police force, it has never crossed her mind at first, nothing she would be that interested in. Since her young age she had always been interested in plays. One of her earliest memories is a one of her grandma taking her to theater. It always fascinated her how all those people on the stage managed to make people laughter or cry just by pretending to be someone else, just by telling a story. Cause in some fucked up sense she was doing the same.
When the police was asking about her friends death she was also pretending to not know who caused it. When the Cps was called into the principals office about those strange bruises spread teoughout her and Michael's bodies, she was also pretending to just be a stupid clumsy girl. Every single one of those people believed her, just like they did those actors.
Prehabs that was the reason Vanessa wanted to be a real one. She read a lot of plays trought her life. Comedies were okay, but tragedies were the one that caught her interest. In a weird way, they felt comforting to her. It was always her dream to act in one.
As she grew up more, it became more apparent that this dream was more likely unachivable, but that didn't stop her from trying. She didn't have to be a famous actress, not even a full-time actress. If you were to ask teenage Vanessa what her plans for future were, she would tell you that she wants to become a high school teacher who would play in a chamber after hours. That was the perfect life for her. She even joined the theater club in high-school one year, lading on of the more important roles, though she never ended up playing, giving it up to her understudy. Why?
What good would be an actress or a teacher to her father. How could be an actress or a teacher cover up his crimes, how could an actress keep an closer eye and inform of a possible threat of someone getting too close to truth. How could an actress to abandoned and sketchy places, without alerting the police?
The day that the play has gone on without Vanessa, was the day her latest dreams broke down. After all, she was his child. She is an Afton. The only reason why she was born into the first place was to continue his legacy.
And then there was Michael.
Michael never had such a dreams as Vanessa, he never got the lavishnesess to have dreams. He always knew that father had something planned for him, so why even bother. He doesn't deserve to dream. After all dreaming will only lead to disappointment.
Although, there was a time in a life where he wasn't following his fathers commands. It was after he finished high school, in some kind of twisted enjoyment his father decoded to kick him out of his house. Prehabs, it was to show him that he's be nothing without him. That he'll always need to do everything his heart wishes to.
But that didn't happen. Michael always knew there was something wrong about him, and deep, deep inside he knew that it was mostly his fathers fault. However, to truly understand and possibly resolve it he decided to enroll into college and study psychology.
Unlike what his father told him, he wasn't just some stupid person who didn't have a chance in college. He got in. Sure, he was never at the top of his class, but also never at the bottom, he was doing fine. Great accually. His life was suddenly looking better, the teachers said he had a bright life ahead of him. And as soon as William heard of it, he knew he had to put end end to it.
After one year of college, Michael dropped because of his fathers wishes. He didn't move back to their family house, no, he wouldn't get that special treatment. Only a small studio apartment payed by William. That was only for Vanessa.
He didn't get to become a police officer like his special sister, only a stupid underpaid night guard. Still helping his father, but not being as important as his sister. His father rarely talked to him, and yet, he was still in his tight grip. A prisoner who cannot escape.
The only way either of them could live a normal life, would be breaking free out of their fathers hands. And though they might be his children, each one of them knows that in reality they are nothing more than his prisoners.

Some Vanessa opens one of her book with a play and Michael one of his psychology books. Reading them and reminiscing of what could have been, if they weren't Aftons.

I don't know if it's just me, but Charlotte is so freakin hard to write. More exactly, Charlotte's and Vanessa's dynamic after the second movie. Cause at one side, they're childhood friends, they used to be ex-friends. I'm sure that Charlie holds Vanessa dear to her heart, just as much Vanessa does Charlotte. She wants Vanessa to have a good life.
However, after the events of the second movie, she doesn't see Vanessa exactly the same. In a way, she wants her to suffer, she is quite literally possessing her. Her biggest goal is getting her revenge, and if it means harming Vanessa in the process, she's willing to do it.
Okay, so, this one really random idea just crossed my mind.
I was just announcing to my friend that I became obsessed with shipping Mike and Vanessa, to which she proceeded to give me a weird look.
She was just like: "Wut?"
Then it clicked: "I said Mike, not Michael, girl come on, you know the lore."
Which paired with this post, got me thinking:

Imagine this, Vanessa has both of their contacts in her phone, Mike and Michael, sometimes she's not careful enough and accidentally sends message to Michael instead of Mike, and the other way around
For example, poor Michael will get exidet to see he received a text from his sister, only to:
M: "Hmmm?! who's Abby? I don't think this was meant for me°^°"
Or:
V: See you tomorrow on the date
M: We have a date tomorrow?!
Or:
V: Can't stop thinking about last night<3
M: I am Michael not Mike!!!!
Or in the worst case scenario:
V: *Sends a picture, definitely not meant for Michael*
M: VANESSA START FUCKING CHECKING WHO YOU'RE SENDING YOUR MESSAGES TO!!!
