Baseball Brawl
When you're at a baseball stadium, you're just sitting, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather. Then the game takes a turn. A pitcher hits the batter in the head, the batter turns around and starts punching the catcher. Here we go... both benches clear and both teams are trying to defend their guy. One guy pushes another, and another fight starts. It's like a domino effect. However, I must say it's pretty darn entertaining. This fight was with the Red Sox and Yankees single-A baseball teams. Bye Bye, Champion
Today, Champion apparel dropped Rashard Mendenhall from their endorsement contract after Mendenhall sent controversial tweets about Osama bin Laden's death.
Mendenhall's tweets:
"What kind of person celebrates death? It's amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We've only heard one side..."
Regarding the 9/11 attacks..."We'll never know what really happened. I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style."
On Sunday, Mendenhall agreed to an extension, however, Champion decided to pull out.
Here's what Champion sent to espn.com:
"Champion is a strong supporter of the government's efforts to fight terrorism and is very appreciative of the dedication and commitment of the U.S. Armed Forces. Earlier this week, Rashard Mendenhall, who endorses Champion products, expressed personal comments and opinions regarding Osama bin Laden and the September 11 terrorist attacks that were inconsistent with the values of the Champion brand and with which we strongly disagreed. In light of these comments, Champion was obliged to conduct a business assessment to determine whether Mr. Mendenhall could continue to effectively communicate on behalf of and represent Champion with consumers."
"While we respect Mr. Mendenhall's right to express sincere thoughts regarding potentially controversial topics, we no longer believe that Mr. Mendenhall can appropriately represent Champion and we have notified Mr. Mendenhall that we are ending our business relationship. Champion has appreciated its association with Mr. Mendenhall during his early professional football career and found him to be a dedicated and conscientious young athlete. We sincerely wish him all the best."
Ouch. Now, I get why Champion decided to cut ties with Mendenhall, but it's just amazing to me that in an instant, you can lose a multi-million dollar contract with a sponsor. I 100% agree that Mendenhall should never have stated those comments online where millions can see it, I mean, he should've been empathetic about the situation. It was his choice to do it and I'm sure he knew there would be backlash.... but definitely not to this extent.
Twitter and Facebook are dangerous. Both are a double-edged sword. Anything that you place on these social media sites can really help you, or can be extremely harmful. It just takes "one click." Call me cheesy, but I'm gonna end with a quote from Warren Buffett: "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently."
Ummm yeah, by now, Rashard Mendenhall wishes he would've done things a little bit differently...
Now ladies and gents, I know how awesome lipo sounds.... it's the miracle surgery! But the consequences aren't worth it in the end.
I can't stress enough that your body is built to take care of itself if given the correct resources. This means by eating healthy, exercising regulary, drinking tons of water and channeling stress correctly, your body will be phenomenal!!
Now, I know you won't be completely satisfied with every part of it, but you will definitely be proud of it and struttin' your stuff in no time. If you take care of your body the healthy/natural way, you body will give you the results you want. This also means, NO taking artificial supplements that mess with your metabolism. I'll tell you why those types of pills are so bad for ya in an entirely different video :)
