S tier: Best character in the show, love them with all my heart, they can do literally nothing wrong

A tier: Beloved blorbo, one of my favorites, I'd want to be friends with them if they were real

B tier: I like them, but I have my critiques. A good character that I mostly enjoy

C tier: Mid character, not the biggest fan of them but I won't complain when they show up

D tier: I don't like them. I have many criticisms of their actions and personality. I may even dislike whole episodes because of them

Okay so when we first meet her she's a captive that's being held by a terrorist organization and she's handling the situation as well if not better than the former Marine/badass Texas Ranger that we're actually supposed to care about. Later we learn that she's an investigative journalist that has traveled all over the world and been in risky situations like that dozens of times. She's literally always packing and I love her for that. And while she did have a role in the story outside of being the main's love interest (she was helping Cordell carry out an off-the-books investigation on people that wanted him dead and was a badass the whole time), the main reason she was killed off (I think anyway) was so that she wouldn't get in the way of the (comparatively lukewarm) ship that the showrunner has really been (unsuccessfully) selling to the fandom. And also the main focus after her death is how her death affects Cordell and his chances of clearing her name. And there's zero mention of her after this. No funeral, no reaching out to her family, nothing. Except for maybe a throwaway comment in an interview and a slowmo shot of her in a bodybag.Somehow she's more fridged than his wife that died in the pilot and kicked off everything.

My point is that Julia Johnson is a badass investigative journalist that would've added so much to the show if she'd been allowed to stick around and she was killed of for basically no reason and the fact that it wasn't acknowledged at all by the show irks me.
