who said i love you first? it hasnt happened yet but i actually think noah might? who laughs when the other trips? noah maybe?who pays the bills? emma which one makes a bigger deal around the holidays? possibly noahwho’s more clumsy? neither i feel who checks their daily horoscope? i feel like emma because shes more interested in those types of things? who sings louder in the car? noah ?who leaves the cap off the toothpaste? noah who is more up to date in pop culture? probs noah as wellwho insists on going to see the newest movies? maybe noah bc he knows she’ll fall asleep who cries when the abused animal commercials come on? ahahahhahhaha can you imagine noah who’s the lighter sleeper? emma who believes in ghosts? i feel like neither of them would want to bc there are so many other monsters in their world they don’t wanna fuck with that who does the grocery shopping? they’d both do it together but emma would get it done quicker who updates their facebook status more often? noah maybe

“I’m here for my daily fix of hugs and kisses.”

Emma laughed as she opened the door to her cabin and those words were the first ones coming out of his mouth. “Aren’t you glad that I’ve finished all of my reading for today?” She jokingly asked, moving a few steps forward to wrap her arms around him hugging him tightly. Hugging him for a few seconds before loosening up her grip on him and moving to hold his hand, “Come in?” 

“You look incredible in that.”

Emma stood at the side of the bed, holding up a part of the blanket before she got in, waiting for a break in his laughter before she spoke. “It’s not a nightie, it’s just a large shirt.” She said, a small sigh escaping her lips as she climbed into the bed, “It really isn’t that funny,” Emma said in another gap of his laughter, leaning back into the pillows, turning her head to look at him, pulling her hand up to his mouth to stop the laughter and teasing she heard every time the two of them had a sleepover. 

“I told you we should have just gotten that German Shepherd puppy.”

”I’m not turning around,” She said bluntly, keeping her eyes on the road. “You should have gotten him when you saw him.” Emma kept talking, giving a quick glance left at him before looking back at the road. “Besides, I doubt Chrion would let you keep it in the camp, and Mr. D would laugh at you. Do you still want that?” 

“I think we should have another.”

”I think you’ve had a bit too much,”  Emma responded, moving forward to try and take his drink from him. She made a face at him when he pulled his barely empty drink away from her “You aren’t making a game of this, are you?” She asked, turning her head from the drink to him. 

“Say you’ll stay.” 

Emma nodded, leaning over to him and putting her arms around him. “I’m going to stay.” She promised, leaning up to give him a small kiss on the cheek, keeping close to him. “I’m never going to leave you, Noah,” She said, a small smile pulling on her lips, moving her hand to his head to move his hair out of his face, trying to be as comforting as possible. 

“Okay, can I just, say something crazy?”

“I’m a complex guy, sweetheart.” 

“And is this the kind of bullshit that works on all the girls?” Alaska asked through laughter, which she attempted to muffle by putting her hand over her mouth. “Gosh okay how many girls has this tricked? Because it sure as hell isn’t working for me. Seriously, PJ– just talk to me like a normal person. Hiding behind masks and doors and tired old sayings isn’t going to push me away. I’m stubborn. Probably just as stubborn as you– if not, more so. Now c’mon out of that shell you dumb turtle and tell it to me straight,” she said rather sternly, although her intentions were good and the smile remained on her face.

"This has nothing to do with you.” 

Alaska grit her teeth together. She had clamped them so hard together that she could feel it in her skull. “When will you stop treating me like a damn child?” she hissed, balling her hands into fists so tight that her knuckles were turning white. “I’m absolutely sick and tired of you pretending like I don’t understand anything, when in reality you just don’t give me enough credit. I’m not a baby or a fragile little flower that needs to be tiptoed around,” Alaska continued, crossing her arms and rolling her eyes. “I’m so much more than you may think– you seriously underestimate me, PJ. I thought you of all people understood me– looks like I was mistaken.”

“I’ve never been good at this. I don’t do relationships. But I… I want to try with you.”

The girl’s pouted lips curled into a slight smile. Was PJ really saying what she thought he was saying? Alaska had begun to believe she was going to have to make the first move– but perhaps something had changed PJ’s mind. “That’s a pretty good first step,” Alaska remarked kindly. She let out a loud sigh “You’ve no idea how long I’ve been waiting for you to say that,” she chuckled softly. Her gaze wandered down to the ground awkwardly before she looked back up at him, “So what happens now?”

“I gave up a long time ago.”

“That’s not the attitude the PJ I know has. Do you want to know what the PJ I know is like? Because this PJ could sure as hell take notes from that guy,” Alaska said as she crossed her arms across her chest. “He’d tell you to suck it the hell up. There’s no point in bitching and whining– that’s not going to help anybody. Get off your ass and give it another shot. The worst that can happen is you not succeeding, so what’s the harm in trying again? Nobody can get everything on the first try– practice makes perfect and all that. Now quite staring at me like that and get back out there. Seriously PJ, I believe you can do it if you just give it another shot.”

“Do we need to go to the hospital?" 

“You’re currently suffering from an allergic reaction that could kill you if you don’t get medical attention within at least half an hour– oh gosh no of course we don’t need to go to a hospital,” June cooed sarcastically as she ushered him to the car, “C’mon get it. I’ve only got my learner’s permit but I can drive us no problem. Plus it’s an emergency,” she reasoned, “Unless you’d rather I call an ambulance?” she offered, checking that they still had over twenty minutes.

“I think I’m falling in love with you.”

June muffled her laughter by covering her mouth with the sleeve of her shirt, “Wow um, do you hear yourself right now?” she said rather loudly– June tended to talk really loud when she was freaking out or feeling uncomfortable and confused, “Because you sound incredibly cliché and cheesy and yeah no, you’re on drugs or something you have to be,” June rambled, patting him on the shoulder as if he were a small child, “Yep you’re out of your mind and I’ve got to go. Love ya, bye,” she said as quickly as she could, giving him a salute and turning away to walk off, realizing what she had just said.

“I’ve never had a Valentine.”

“Would it be weird if I high-fived you right now?” the brunette blurted, “Because literally same here,” she added with a light-hearted laugh. Over the years she’d learned not to take Valentine’s day to heart too much. Pun intended. It just wasn’t such a big deal, although June wouldn’t object if she would’ve ever been offered one. “Hey let’s Valentine-less together,” she cheered, linking arms with him and giving him a playful peck on the cheek, “Unless that’s weird or something,” June added cautiously, recoiling slightly as she took a step away from him.

“Well, you want to go somewhere and talk? Or not talk?”

June stayed silent for a moment. She looked him in the eyes and for the first time in the twenty or so minutes that they had been sitting there on that floor, she pushed through a soft smile. It was barely there, but it was there enough for Philip to notice, “Not talk would be nice,” June replied with a firm nod, letting him help her up as the two began to walk, “The library sounds like a good idea,” she added in almost a whisper.
