Ingredients: 2 cups heavy cream. 1 cup whole milk. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks or chips. 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until sugar is dissolved. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Meanwhile, chop the dark chocolate into small chunks. During the last few minutes of churning, add in the chopped chocolate and cherries. Transfer the churned ice cream into a freezer-safe container, layering with additional cherries and chocolate chunks if desired. Freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm. Serve and enjoy!
