Number 33 with Juste and Lydie? (Maybe the spot where Lydie was bitten? Did I ask correctly?)
Ohhhhh not enough love for Lydie babygirl 👀
Now, technically the good ending of the game states that Lydie's bite mark vanished. However, I'm going to ignore it for the time being <3
~
Sometimes, Lydie could have convinced herself that she had the most vivid fever dream, and then she simply woke up to her normal life.
It was such a vivid dream. A twisted castle, of hues that did not exist in this world. A skeleton cloaked in a robe, that spoke of maidens and sacrifices and seized her with terror. And, most terrible of all, a... thing that looked like Maxim, and spoke with Maxim's voice, but was not Maxim in any way, because Maxim would never do that, Maxim would never laugh at her or talk at her like she was a thing or... or...
Bite her hard enough to leave a circular scar blossoming on her throat.
But no matter how meticulously Lydie covered her neck with her lace collar, it had become harder to ignore reality.
What had happened to her?
--
"I was sure it wasn't here before!"
Maxim may have thrown himself into training, and insisted that he had to do it by himself, but Juste had to listen to her.
Her friend, lounging on the two-seater sofa with her, only shook his head. "It's really nothing to worry about."
"Don't play coy with me, sir!"
"I'm serious," he sighed, and from the sharper tone, Lydie understood that it was no longer Juste speaking, but the Belmont. "If you... If you were in any danger, I would know." To emphasize his point, he patted his hip, where the Vampire Killer rested - and had been resting there since the entire accident that changed the three of them.
The implications of Juste's words froze Lydie's blood. She shivered next to his chest.
Right. Lydie checked time and time again, but even as the bruise grew redder every day, there were no signs of two sharp canines piercing her. It was a human bite. So she wasn't... something that Juste and Maxim would have to fight.
"I suppose you're right," Lydie muttered, not drawing comfort from it. "But still..."
I was violated and I can't even remember it. It might have been my dear friend. Maxim is avoiding us, and acts despondent when he can't. You won't tell me what I went through!
"It is unsightly," she ended up saying instead, staring pointedly at her boots and picking at her collar.
Next to her, Juste shifted in his seat. He looked as if he didn't know what to do with his limbs, whether to cross his legs or to keep his hands on his lap. He was Lydie's dear fiancé and she couldn't be happier of it, but she, more and more often, wished he would just confide in her...
He settled on wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Always the protective type. "I never meant for you to be scared. I only wanted to put everything behind us."
And then, her breath caught when Juste snaked a finger under her collar, and pulled it down. Her mark exposed to the world, to him.
His lips descended on it, almost cool against the reddened skin. Lydie shuddered at the intimate contact, at his long hair tickling her bare skin and sending shivers down her body. How long had he been waiting to do this? And how long had she been?
"You're still the pretty, witty lady I know," Juste smiled to her, radiant like an angel. "A scar won't mar you, not on the outside, let alone on the inside."
And if the most dashing vampire hunter was sure of it, then perhaps Lydie could rest easy once more.
