"no,  i can’t fix everything for you this time. it’s your mess. clean it up."

“i know what i’m talking about.” after all, this wasn’t exactly judah’s first rodeo. he’d made bolder declarations in shorter timescales over the span of his life. he could forgive her for not knowing that, though. “oh, uh…” trailed off for a moment because he hadn’t anticipated any sort of agreement from maura enough to actually think of a plan. “dinner is always a good start, isn’t it? a way for us to get to know one another since you seem to think i don’t know you.”

"you're like... you're my muse, you know?" call him desperate but he really hasn't been able to get her out of his head, to the point all of his recent art pieces have resembled her in some way or another. and she won't even give him the time of day. "which is why i think you should let me take you out on a date — so we can get to know one another on a deeper level?"

judah’s eyes narrow disappointedly since he doesn’t seriously think celeste thinks he’ll believe that, does she? “i mean — if he’s staying here then he should be paying to live here and maybe i should be consulted before you let him move into my place too?” he doesn’t want to put her in an awkward situation but he can’t hide his annoyance, eyes rolling at the suggestion he wouldn’t know the other guy was even there. “we both know that’s a lie, he’s about as subtle as an elephant. besides, you seriously think he’s ever going to want to move out when he’s got you paying his bills and catering to his every whim? wake up, celeste.”

“could you maybe do me a favour and remind kyle if he wants to make a protein shake at 5am, he doesn’t have to bang all the cupboards in the kitchen while he’s at it?” judah puts her coffee on the counter with a little more force than necessary as he eyes his roommate. “in fact, wanna tell me why we even have kyle’s protein in the cupboards? this isn’t his apartment.”

“i am asking.” doesn’t think there needs to be anymore to it than that, hence why he tried to sound casual. though, wes’ lack of reply ends up being irritating. “i don’t know what you mean,” he scoffs, “i don’t need full names.” no, could work that out himself.

“who are you wasting your time with now?” the question comes out before he can stop it, so judah has to offer a casual shrug. like he doesn’t care. “if you don’t mind me asking.”
