Thank you very much for sending this ask! It was lovely to see you in my inbox the other day, and I appreciate that you took the time to send me this despite the fact I haven’t been active in the TMNT fandom for quite a few months now.

So as a thank you and to celebrate the next round of the @tmntaucompetition , I decided to make this little comic featuring the cast of JTOEL and Artemisia! Since it’s been so long, I decided it’d be a nice treat to show everyone who didn’t get to make their appearance when I put the fic on hiatus :]

Um. Hi, I promise this fic isn't abandoned. I am actively working on it as we speak. But, um, I'm gonna be real; I started this fic having absolutely no clue what I was doing or where I wanted the story to really go. I mean, I had some plot points figured out, but no real... structure. It was just an idea that I posted, an idea I didn't actually think would get very popular. And then the kudos and comments started flooding in and they're still going strong even now, but here's the thing;

Chapter one no longer holds up now that I've thought the lore through and know what I want to do with this story.

And that... that is a problem. A very big one. Because in order for the story to move forward, I need to rewrite chapter one. I have to retcon some things, and that's the biggest reason as to why chapter six is taking so long to come out. Because I don't know if people will take kindly to the intro chapter being changed, I don't know if people will still like it.

I don't think anything, like, really big will change, but I kind of feel... restrained by the content in chapter one. Certain things, like the dialogue exchanged between Leo, CJ and Mikey, just no longer fit. Mikey's thought process no longer fits. And on top of that, my writing style has changed.

And I'm not quite sure what to do.

I'm stalling, to put it simply.

Is this story primarily for me? Yes, yes it is. But I still want people to like it, I still want the people who love this story to enjoy it even if the first chapter is different. I still want to share it with the world and for it to be loved.

So...

As an apology for how long chapter 4 is taking to come out, I’ve decided to give you all a handful of sneak peaks! This chapter is a long one, as there’s a lot to cover! Enjoy! (Small note, some things in these sneak peaks might not make it to the final version)

JTOEL!Casey, showing off his prosthetic arm: -yeah I got separated from my moms and dads at like, idk I think it was six years ago now so I was seven or so, and a Krang cut my arm off. Everyone thought I was dead since, y’know, my weapon was still attached to the arm and so was my identifying bandanna. I’m honestly surprised I survived, probably wouldn’t have if my ninpo hadn’t awakened and teleported me twenty miles away and closed the wound. I think I was separated from them for like, three weeks? Idk, I don’t actually remember much of what happened between getting separated and finding them again. Shit’s wild. Anyways.
