Journal #18: What are you looking forward to the most and why?
At 19 years old and in college, there are a lot of things that I look forward to. I don't even think I can prioritize one over the other. One of the most relevant things I look forward to right now is graduating from college and getting my Associates in IT Support. I only have three semesters left, so I want to make them count. Just wish they'd be over faster. It's very stressing to do as much work as I do for my major.
I also am looking forward to getting a job and moving out of home. Sure, I don't want to officially "grow up" and stuff, but living at home is getting really tough. I have five brothers and my family can't afford a house with more than three bedrooms, so I really don't get enough space for me, you know? Also, I'd like to make my own money and not have to worry about depending on my parents for money. Because only my dad is capable of working, we don't have a huge income so I hate to be a burden and waste his hard earned money on things I want.
Another thing I look forward to is visiting the very awesome verdict district. He's been one of the closest people to me for the last... maybe five years? It's a shame I haven't been able to just wrap my arms around him and give him a big hug, thanking him for all he's done for me. I owe a lot to him and that's a lot to say about someone I've never officially "met" in person.
My honorable mention would be that I look forward to finally going back to my hometown in CT to visit all my friends. Since I moved to NC, I haven't been able to see them and it pains me. I'm glad they've kept in touch, thanks to technology, but I feel this emptiness from not being able to see them in front of me like I was able to before.
It's nice to look forward to things, though I try not to prioritize anything because I don't want to feel like a "failure" for not reaching that goal. I always try to keep an open mind so, in the long run, I don't disappoint myself.
Is there anything you look forward to?
