“Joshua… I don’t think I can do this…” You grumbled as he pulled his guitar from its case, “There’s a ton of people—”

“Of course there is, it’s a Christmas party after all.” Joshua chuckled while he tossed the red and green patterned guitar strap over his shoulder.

“I don’t think I’m ready…”

“What do you mean? You’ve practiced the song since the middle of November, and now you’re telling me you can’t do it?” His overly sarcastic tone caused your lips to form a pout, one that he loved seeing appear after he teased you, “C’mon, it’s just the one song and then you’re done and I’ll be there with you every step of the way.” His warm eyes met yours and he could see the worry starting to melt from your body.

“You owe me after this…” Closing the space between you, Joshua leaned down close to your face.

“What would you like?” A smirk spread over his lips as he witnessed your blush come into full bloom.

“L-let me think about it…” You turned away from him and made your way to the little stage setup that was decorated with strings of lights, garland, and a little Christmas tree. Taking the microphone in hand, you cleared your throat before speaking, “Everyone… Joshua and I prepared a little something for you guys. I hope you enjoy it.” Joshua took the chair next to you and got comfortable before beginning to strum the melody to “Jingle Bells.” Singing along with the guitar seemed to make any worry you had evaporate into thin air. By the time the song was over you were dying to do more, but you knew Joshua still owed you a favor after the first song and you figured out what you wanted.

“Why are you dragging me all the way out here?” He asked, trailing behind you.

“Because you owe me.”

“Oh? Did you finally figure out what you wanted?” He hummed as you came to a stop under a door frame with him.
