I’d really love to hear more about your asexual Ivy, if that’s okay please!! (She already means the world to me, and as an asexual myself, I’m so excited to see some representation in her <3)
Aaah sorry it took me so long to get to this!
Our Ivy was made by both me and my bsf @mullet-nygma and we both shared collective ideas before settling on anything.
When it came to her sexuality, I knew I wanted to keep the well-loved and common interpretation of her lesbianism, but our main focus laid on Ivy's misanthropy and connection to plants. So we had to ask ourselves if Ivy would ever even get into a typical relationship if she despises humans so much. Our conclusion is that it would definitely be an atypical build-up before even trusting another human (in this case, women only) and, after an especially traumatizing experience with a human, she makes the firm decision to never be physical with one again.
But I feel it's important to mention that her asexuality doesn't solely stem from trauma, it moreso reinforced what she has already felt but never really bothered putting a name on before the traumatic event. She has always felt disconnected from humanity (as that is the overarching theme of our AU) and inhumane when it comes to anything regarding other people (hence her love for plants as they understand her much better), including shared intimacy!
