fingers halfway covered by glove reach out to the sparkling diamonds reflected within the black of dilated pupils . gaze is fixated like that of a cat watching a still - standing mouse , until the sudden impact on the back of his outstretched hand makes eyes jump to the painted grimace hovering between him and the clown’s expensive catch . harkness pulls it back with a plastic smile . he feels like fucking aladdin ----- a thief in a cave of riches he’s not allowed to touch .
‘ ay , wha’ ya need all this for anyway ? ’ frustration is evident in his tone and face , putting a confused crease on his brow . obviously boomerang doesn’t expect the man to just share with him what he’s got stacked up in his lair . there’s another plan here , and he’s yet to decide if he’ll like it . ‘ ain’t the work done once ya got these babies safely in yer care ? what else ya want ? ’

6. what is your favorite thing about writing your current muse?
hmmm. that’s a tricky one bc there’s a lot of different things i love about writing arthur / the joker. the fact that i get to write my favorite character (the joker) and that i get to develop his backstory as arthur fleck is probably my favorite thing because the joker has been a favorite character of mine for so long now, but i always struggled writing him until we started getting content revolving around potential backstories for him. i mean, of course, there was the killing joke, but it was kind of vague and short, so i never really managed to get enough inspiration from it to write him until telltale came out, and now the joker movie.
another favorite thing about writing arthur is that i get to write a character that i can relate to in a lot of ways. i mean, it can be draining sometimes to write him because i relate so much to certain things like depression and suicidal thoughts, and i’ve been trying to keep a more positive mindset to not get myself into a really low point where i’ve been before, so in a way, writing arthur is kind of going against that?? bc it brings a lot of things back up?? lol. but it also feels important for me to write about these topics revolving around arthur, such as mental health, the affects that family, the environment, society, people, etc, can have on a person’s mental state, especially if treated poorly / wrong by them, and things like that. so yeah! that’s two of my favorite things about writing him, i guess. / @jokrs

A brow rose hidden beneath her near white hairline as she quietly regards him. She seems silent for the longest time...almost serious in a way she rarely appears to show. But it’s not long before mirth scraps the back of her throat, and her lips pulled to bare her pearly whites.

He was an interesting case. One that’s left her puzzled...if not filled with a HUNGER to learn more about him...or rather what pushed him to his edge. What drove him over that edge even. Everyone had a breaking point, Harleen believed that firmly...no doubt about it. She was pretty sure if she had dared to dwell on the issues of her past she would have been pushed to that edge like he has been. Or maybe he was a special case?. Maybe only a select few acted?. But this was just one of the many reasons her work was, so important to her.....she lived to learn...to understand...to break through that cloud of fog others had been overwhelmed by. In a way she craved to understand him BETTER.
