Their vibes? Immaculate.

The chemistry?? Insane.

The tension??? I've seen cables snap over less.

Now, I know what you're probably thinking. Why them? Why now? Those are excellent questions that only god can answer and he ain't pickin' up right now. I am your god now

Wheeljack is interesting in Transformers Prime because he's different from basically every other iteration we've seen of him. He's some ninja cowboy badass who is also such a smarty pants he puts everyone else to shame. He's a loner who others claim is the life of the party. He's batshit wild and loyal.

He's a Wrecker, one of the last, and has been alone for a Long Time before he found Earth. He's feral, okay?

An absolute Gremlin of a man. Mech. Whatever you get the point.

Now. We have Ultra Magnus. The Wrecker commander during the war, likes rules and procedure, and to follow the chain of command. But he was in charge of this massive group of hooligans who knew they were being sent to their deaths every time they got a mission. That has to leave a lasting impression.

He has to be a Secret Gremlin, along the lines of "don't feed after midnight". He looks normal, if a little stiff and formal, but he is Commander Chaos okay the first thing he asked for was to uSE THE SOLAS HAMMER.

AND ANCIENT ARTIFACT OF THE PRIMES.

BECAUSE IT WAS SHINY AND HE COULD CREATE EARTHQUAKES WITH IT.

They are both Agents of Chaos but at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Mags is all malicious compliance and huge Fuck Off Hammers while Wheeljack is flashing swords that distract you while he rewires a bomb to your ass.

They're perfect for each other.
