Cake sea star (Anthenea aspera). Helpful fb grp helped ID. Looks a little chubby compared to the Common Sea Star, with its stubby arms and all😊. Their arms are short with rounded tips and can grow to about 10 to 20cm. These Sea Stars come in a wide variety of patterns and colours, from black, brown, red, orange, yellow to even green. #ig_myshots #seastar #cakeseastar #intertidal #merambong #johorstrait #pulaumerambong #kelabalami #wildsingaporewebsite (at Merambong Island)
Common hairy crab (Pilumnus vespertilio) seen. Body width 3-5cm and has reddish eyes. Its body and limbs are covered with long, silky hairs. These trap sediments allowing the crab to blend perfectly with its surroundings (looking brownish). In the water, its hairs ‘fluff up’ breaking up its body outline. #pulaumerambong #commonhairycrab #wildsingaporewebsite #ig_myshots #crab #johorstrait #intertidal (at Merambong Island)
