That Passion Play tool is totally wrong mostly but I did want to note that Judaism was actually pretty prevalent in the Empire before 70 CE. Something like ten percent of the Empire was Jewish, and even an Emperor's daughter converted. If we had grown at the same rate as comparable Roman populations there would be 200 million of us. HMM I wonder why there aren't. Maybe it ties into the larger mystery.
I mean, there can’t be any historical reason why! It just one of those many and strange coincidental thingies that seem to just happen to the Jewish people apropos of nothing. (sarcasm)

Your grades matter a lot less to anyone than your research experience will, so don't worry how you did in an intro class. But also, virology is awesome. So tiny, so powerful.
I needed a reminder of that this morning, thank you :) tiny and powerful is right! also I love the mysterious evolutionary origins

Come the the virus side of the force…
The intro to virology course in my program is notoriously terrible, and it was a train wreck for me. :( I wish the microbio department here was bigger. You do make a compelling argument, though...
That is definitely the title of your book write it now go.
WHAT IS IT EVEN ABOUT THOUGH???

johnskylar said: Generally speaking, though, the widest tradition for what a “b’chor” is is a male who is the firstborn of their mother. Personally, I see no problem with persons anywhere in the sex or gender space identifying as obligated firstborns, though.
animatedamerican said: An interesting point on this: according to at least some, the first living child is not considered “firstborn” if the mother has had a prior pregnancy that ended in a stillbirth or miscarriage.

“Why is it okay, or is it okay, for Christians to use and believe in...”
So the thing is that the Torah is supposed to be God's unique gift to the Jewish people, so this isn't really accurate...but the Christians who brought the Torah into Christianity WERE Jews, so it's hard to see it as appropriation for that reason.
I was taught that the Torah is a gift to the Jewish people, not that no one else is allowed to read or study it. The issue is that we’re expected to do so whereas others are not.
