Sleepy mornings like this were the best, Jade decided. Karkat’s palm stroked up from her waistband to the bottom of her ribcage and dragged claws back down and she twitched into the touch, groaning. She could swear she could feel it in her ears, it felt so good.

Belly rubs weren't the only good thing about sleepy mornings, though! There was also breakfast slow enough to be savored, Karkat’s unguarded smiles, and John's warm weight. Morning breath kisses and lots of cuddle time...

Pancakes...

She flopped on her stomach, letting Karkat’s hand come to rest on the small of her back, and pried her eyes open to stare hopefully at john.

Aaaand received a blank look in return. Darn.

Turning the puppy dog eyes up a few notches, she worked on sending her very best pancake vibes.

A bleary blink.

Obviously in this state of partial consciousness john needed more of a hint than that. She took a large breath, pressed her lips together, and exhaled. "Puhh."

He didn't look anymore clued in.

Getting impatient, she finished the word in one breath. "-ancakes."

Karkat hid his laugh in her back, puffs of hot air between her shoulder blades.

John blinked once. Twice. The look of dawning comprehension on his face tasted like sweet, sweet victory.

Sigh.
