"The song is about his struggles with people who come off as being supportive but don’t really want to see success. It’s an exploration of trying to find one’s belonging. And feeling caught in a moment where you’re not sure if “staying put” could leave you stunted; and if leaving everything you’ve worked towards can build a new beginning", JohnDrifter.
All instruments; Guitar, Bass, Drums, Glockenspiel, Vocals were recorded By John. And it was mixed by John on Ableton Live 10.
The cover art was made by John; the image depicts the waves of Bundoran, Co. Donegal, Ireland. And we’re made by glitching original VHS footage.
The song has been promoted pre-release using TikTok - and has proved promising towards the indie rock audience. With many comparisons to the band “Her’s”
