I do love a good musical and RENT is one of my absolute favorites. No I did not watch the live event. Why? Well they have to censor this beauty of a musical for network tv. I cannot in good conscious watch a watered down version of the message Jonathan Larson was giving the world with this masterpiece and watch a censored version of it. RENT is one everyone should watch and take the time to understand the real message it represents about life. It’s about living your life to the fullest despite anything that you could be going through or experiencing. RENT is about accepting and loving yourself for who you are. There is a beautiful message within it that is there for all of us. Johnathan Larson left behind a wonderful legacy with this musical and this opening from the original cast proves no one will ever be the original Broadway cast that almost entirely reunited for the movie. And the movie is fantastic! Just been to see #RENT in the @hopemilltheatre and it was amazing, I've been wanting see RENT live on stage for a while now and when I saw that it was being performed at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester, I said I had to go and I'm super glad I did, yeah there was a break in voices here and there (what do you expect in the heat of those lights with such short breaks to drink) and there was a technical difficulty or two but this show proves that you can have a small performance space and still produce such a great show, the roles were cast so well and I'm not afraid to admit I knew most if not all the lyrics to each song as they came especially La Vie Boheme and Another Day 🤷 Also I can admit I cried in the second act, I mean who couldn't get a little emotional during it 🎭 🎭 🎭 #rentmusical #johnathanlarson #hopemilltheatre #musicaltheatre #musicaltheater #musicaltheatrefan #musical #musicaltheatrenerd #musicallover #supportsmalltheatre (at Hope Mill Theatre) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTurHxPMBML/?utm_medium=tumblr
