The Six Thatchers - Vivian Norbury, CAM, and Moriarty
Wow. Okay. So this is the first meta Iβve ever written but I just couldnβt help it.
So, the first episode of Season 4 Sherlock hasnβt even been out 12 hours but Iβve noticed something. After watching the episode, I was extremely disappointed Moriarty wasnβt present at all during the episode, considering all the time the writers and the trailers were building up to Moriartyβs return.Β
But, hereβs the twist. He already has. He has already made his first move on Sherlock.
In order to understand this concept, we need to take a deeper look at His Last Vow. The main antagonist; Magnussen. This may not be important, but it quite is if it proves to be true.Β
Also, hopefully no one else has written a meta on this. Iβm not stealing, this is just something that clicked in my mind.
A Shark in the London Aquarium
In the beginning of HLV, we hear Sherlock explain to John that Magnussen is like a shark, what with his beady eyes and creepy stare.Β
Now, he couldβve just stopped at that but he didnβt, did he?
βHave you ever been to the shark tank in the London Aquarium, John?β Sherlock asks.Β βStood up close to the glass, those floating, flat faces, those dead eyes? Thatβs what he is.β
And what aquarium did a certain someone like to attend to look at the sharks?
Vivian Norbury, the woman who killed Mary Watson.
Β Now, whether the killing was intentional or not, someone would have to expand upon, but if so, Moriartyβs plan has begun. Heβs hurting those around Sherlock. Heβs burning the heart out of him.Β
Now, then, back to Norbury and CAM. Iβm not sure if this is true or not, or whatever the writers have planned but, Vivian was Magnussenβs wife. Β
Sherlock quickly deduces that Vivian was married, over 30 years, and was widowed. Sound like anyone? Anyone that recently died... anyone that Sherlock recently killed.
Vivian is adamant that she didnβt commit her crimes out of jealously. Maybe not. But the reason she is working with Moriarty now, the reason she is committing her current crime is revenge. Moriartyβs plan is to burn Sherlock and Vivian wants to help burn Sherlock, the man that killed her husband of over 30 years.
Lastly, we know CAM was able to get information on Lady Smallwood to be able to blackmail. Now, Smallwood works at MI6 (?), or something, Iβm not entirely clear on her position, but if she is, then sheβd be extremely hard to get to. Vivian Norbury was Lady Smallwoodβs assistant. These coincidences seem to be lining up. But then again, thereβs no such thing as coincidences, the universe is rarely ever so lazy.
The only thing that doesnβt support my claim is that CAM doesnβt have a wedding ring. Although, he is Danish and people in Denmark wear their fingers on their right hand. Still though, no ring.Β
Β Maybe, just maybe, after Vivian got CAM the letters to be able to blackmail Lady Smallwood, he divorced her? Although itβs highly unlikely heβd divorce her that easily after 30 years? Or maybe she was just his lover? HMMMMM.
How very fitting it is for Vivianβs confrontation with Sherlock to take place near the shark tanks in the London Aquarium? And also for Norbury to kill Mary, aka set Moriartyβs plan in motion, also near the shark tanks?
CAM may have died, but he was there in spirit, if you believe in that sort of thing.Β
This may not be important for proving that Vivian was CAMβs wife, but if she is, this whole connection will make a lot more sense.Β
Magnussenβs helicopter looks like this and has the letters G-VGMG
and then we got a sneak peek at Moriartyβs helicopter from Season 4.
well what do ya know? G-VGMG.Β
Now, again this isnβt evidence that supports the claim that CAM and Vivian were married. This is something that can be supported by the fact that CAM and Norbury were married.
CAM and his wife were working with Moriarty. Moriarty has been the main villian throughout the entire series, since ASIP. Pretty odd that he didnβt appear in the Season 4 premiere.. except he did. We see, but do not observe. His plan has been set in motion.Β
This has been kinda sloppy, but with only one episode out, we only have so much to go on.
Also, Iβve been researching things about the index finger and why Vivian wears hers on the index finger? Why not the middle finger? But, unfortunately, I havenβt found anything and I donβt know if this will play a part.
