John Pierce, a lawyer representing dozens of defendants facing charges for the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, told supporters in a fundraising email Sunday that if Kamala Harris defeats Donald Trump in this yearâs presidential election, his âcontingencyâ plan for getting presidential pardons for his clients will be off the table.
Pierce, who created the National Constitutional Law Union in 2021, said in an email that the group âhas represented more January 6 defendants than any other attorney or law firm.â
âSince Joe Biden withdrew from the race, Kamala has become the front-runner, and fear has been keeping me up at night for our clients,â he wrote. Pierce said that while he hopes to win in the courts, presidential pardons for his âpatriotsâ has always been his backup plan, but âthey will NEVER happen under President Harris.â
Pierce has good reason to hope that Trump could come to the rescue if he returns to office. Not only has Trump floated the idea of pardoning Jan. 6 defendantsâhe has referred to them as âhostagesââhe also appeared in a fundraising video for the NCLU earlier this year. âIâm a victim, but there are many victimsâ of the âweaponization of our government,â Trump claimed, adding that Nov. 5 will be âthe single biggest day in the history of our country.â

When did Diane Warren become the person we discuss in our posts about her songwriting career, i.e. this blockbuster musician? I would claim the 80's gave her such a status. You see, she wrote several huge songs for different musicians back then, including Belinda Carlisle. The piece she did for the latter followed up her greatest hit, so no surprise this one achieved a similar success. To be honest, I find the tune to be a bit better than Carlisle's claim to fame, though I admit the hooks are more powerful on the previous triumph. Nonetheless, the ditty functions well, yet the production does too much of the 80's, if you catch my drift. While I do get the reasons for this, mind you, Carlisle's previous work with The Go-Go's showed that she doesn't really need a highly polished sound.

Back in January, a photo circulated of Rittenhouse in a bar, wearing a shirt saying âFREE AS FUCKâ while posing for a picture with Proud Boys.
Banfield brought up that photo in an interview Tuesday and asked Rittenhouse, âYou have stated that you are not a racist, but thereâs video footage of you using hand signs that are used by groups that are considered many to be white supremacists. Why have you associated with members of groups like the Proud Boys? Why have you used hand signs that are commonly associated with white supremacy?â
âThatâs a good question,â Rittenhouse said. âI didnât know that the OK hand sign was a symbol for white supremacy, just as I didnât know those people in the bar were Proud Boys. They were set up by my former attorney, who was fired because of that, for putting me in situations like that with people I donât agree with.â
