I want to sincerely apologize to every word I've ever held at the tip of my tongue only to swallow because I feared that they were louder than my voice could project.

There's a line that lays between us. You and I both aware But to speak of it We do not. You cross it at times. I do the same. Aware of the line and our mis-placement  , We step back. Two steps if crossed too far. There's a conversation to be had We both, in a state of conscious avoidance. There lies a decision We both fear to make. So it simmers And we wait for it to make itself.

Perhaps this is a phantom love. Because I find your presence in all that I do, and it is inherently painful.
