I got to watch a good chunk of your career unfold. From the time I was nine until I was twenty-four. We both grew up a lot since 2004 when you debuted and played fifteen years for the Twins. The walk-up song of What You Know, the way Adam Abrams announced your name, and your swing remained the same throughout all those years. I watched you win three batting titles and grow to stardom. Thank god we moved into a new ballpark, so we could afford your big contact that might have been too long. I was at the game in 2013 when you took a foul tip off your mask and got a concussion. You had to move to first base after that. One of the best baseball moments was seeing your twin girls walk out to you as you played your final game as a Twin. Then I walked up the aisle of section 101 and the crowd had gotten quiet as you walked out behind home plate to say goodbye at Target Field in the last game of the 2018 season. Now we get to call you a Hall of Famer. Well played Mauer. Thank you Joe for proving that Minnesotans can realize their dreams. “Now batting for the Twins, the catcher, number seven Joeeeeeeee Mauer.”
