Usually I won’t answer asks that include submissions, especially before the character is posted, but I wanted to say that I’m glad this blog is already helping people! That’s the main hope for this blog - to include people who haven’t been included, and to show people that characters like them exist.

This isn’t so much talking about them as it is listing them - and it’s not necessarily saying they’re good, just there.

It’s definitely a harmful trope - and I’m autistic myself, so I really know. And luckily, I (out of 9 canon ND characters I can think of just off the top of my head) know 2 canon autistic characters that definitely do not fit into that trope.

I would tag tropes like that, but in my previous experience with trying to tag tropes on submission run blogs, things get missed a lot, and even with mods we can’t be familiar enough with everything to know what is or isn’t good (which is also why this isn’t necessarily saying they’re good, just there.)

If we tried to list only good rep, we'd have to have at least one mod with every neurodivergence, as well watch every show or movie and read every book or comic that gets submitted, and that's just not possible, so we aren't going to limit it to only good rep in the first place. People can ask us if we’re familiar with a character, and if one of us does we might be able to tell you if they’re good and which tropes (harmful or just annoying) apply to them, but it’s still only a maybe.
