FAVORITE LYRICS FROM ANY OF JMPB'S SONGS, SOLO PAGE OR NOT
Resurrecting these tags because I love this band too damn much.
Right now I'm hooked on Oh, Songbirds chorus
"The world is dark these days
And all the larks are caged
In Silence
They've no heart to sing
This too shall come to pass
This is not built to last
Oh, Songbirds
Find me in the spring"
Like it recognizes that things are fucked up right now. The economy's in the shitter, political tensions are as high as they've ever been, and there's still ever-present racial issues we still face today. But it recognizes that things'll get better. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next week, but it'll come to pass as we learn to live with each other a little bit more each day.
Every day I go hoping someone will ask me who Johnny Manchild and the Poor Bastards are specifically so that I can respond with "Oklahoma boy band"
