And by people you mean taekookers. That conversation basically ended up with several narratives that were in the fandom or that taekookers loved to say to keep their ship alive.

1. The main narrative that that conversation ended is that up to that point taekook wasn't real. It probably never was. And that's something they can't accept for obvious reasons.

The first few years after BTS's debut, Tae and Jungkook seemed pretty close, something they acknowledged in that conversation, and out of that closeness and those years taekook was born. But as time went on things changed, they changed and their closeness was not the same. They usually gravitated towards other members and not towards each other. That's when another narrative was born, BHM is hiding taekook.

2. To compensate for the lack of interactions between Jungkook and Tae, taekookers began to say that the company was hiding the relationship by forcing Jungkook and tae to spend more time with other members and not interacting on camera as much as they did in the early years. By having that conversation in one of their shows, by allowing the cameras to record that moment they also ended that narrative, if BHM was hiding their interactions why didn't they hide that conversation which showed that their relationship was not the same for a while now?

Personally I don't think that conversation is the first time they or Tae told us that their relationship wasn't the same, years ago, I don't remember exactly which one, Tae said that usually Jungkook ignored him behind camera, if Taekook was real why would Jungkook ignore Tae behind camera too?

3. Taekookers complain about many things, one of them is that BHM doesn't want to show us the moments between Jungkook and Tae. It seems redundant to say, but, if their relationship wasn't the same, if they didn't interact much behind the camera it means that BHM didn't hide the moments between them, it just that there were no moments between them to show in the different contents or that what we saw was the only thing they had to show.

The skinship issue is complicated, taekook does skinship a lot, but that doesn't make the ship any more real, between Jimin and Jungkook there isn't much skinship usually, but that doesn't make the ship any less likely to be real.

Jungkook and Tae never stopped interacting, they never stopped being friends, they never stopped touching each other, that's not what they said in that conversation, their relationship just stopped being... close. Jungkook and Tae stopped being close, and that's normal but obviously their shippers can't accept that.

Skinship makes up a large part of the group dynamics, especially the maknae line. Basing the veracity of a ship solely on skinship is in my opinion, wrong. In that case hopekook would be real.

When that conversation happened, taekookers had to justify it somehow because the alternative was not possible. So they decided to call Jungkook and Tae liars. They decided to say that the conversation was planned by BHM so that the fans would believe that Taekook is not real because obviously we can't know that it is. They decided once again to disrespect Jungkook and Tae instead of believing their words.

Ironically enough, their closeness early on actually proves to me even FURTHER that they are/were never romantically involved. Bear with me here.

I gauge these thoughts based on a young JK and the fact that I belive him to be queer in some regard. Taekookers like to brag about how close TK was, and how cold and stand offish JK would be with Jimin.

Really think about it though... if you're a young queer man, possibly confused about your sexuallity, growing up in the spotlight in a homophobic country... Are you really gonna be comfortable being all over your crush like that? Would he feel that carefree being all touchy with Tae if he had feelings for him?

To me, the situation reads as JK being openly close with Tae because he had no romantic feelings and nothing to hide. To me, JK being shy and hesitant with Jimin 100% reads as "young queer boy overcome with gay panic."

I say this as a person who had to hide their sexuallity at that age. Just my two cents 🤷.

It makes sense what you say anon, in fact I would apply it even today. Jungkook has no problem hugging, touching Hobi and Jin, especially Hobi, when he wants to, there is no hesitation when he does it.

But when it comes to Jimin he does hesitate to do so, sometimes he stops himself and when he touches or hugs Jimin we can see how shy and careful he becomes in doing so.

Hypocrisy.

Double standards.

Stupidity.

Jealousy.

And fear.

Further proof for me is the Run BTS 777 special, if my SO left me just like that when he could have waited for me, he won’t be my SO for long.

I’ve learned to look at original material no matter if it’s a jikook material or other wise and now that I’ve watched a lot, I often wonder how people can come up with those stories (and yes including some of the ridiculous jikook ones).

Those examples you wrote illustrate a bit more Jungkook and Tae's relationship and why it's unlikely to be a romantic one. To me something that illustrated much better the type of relationship they have and don't have is the conversation they had in ITS. If JK and Tae are a couple that conversation was quite interesting because of several things they said:

Tae said at the beginning of the conversation that Jungkook had recently called him for a drink between the two of them (weird, aren't all the members supposed to live together?) if they were a couple, wouldn't that be something normal or something that happens often between them?

Jungkook talked about the bond they had when they were trainees but then things started to feel a little awkward between them, there started to be distance.

Jungkook explained that he had heart-to-heart conversations with all the members except Tae, which is weird, if Tae is his partner, wouldn't he have been one of the first people he talked to?

Jungkook explained that after the conversation their relationship although it didn't go back to what it was a few years ago, some things between them did.

If they were a couple I don't understand why they didn't talk about these things before, why Jungkook didn't trust Tae to talk to him first about the things he talked to the other members about, why if they were or are a couple things between them were awkward and why there was distance between them? That doesn't sound like a healthy or happy relationship.

Don't you suck on your brother's ear in front of thousands of people to comfort him?🙄

Don't you stay up till 4am and later with your brother playing games and chilling?🙄

Don't you take your brother on a trip to Tokyo, record a lot of the sweet moments and then make your first video in that series about him/that Tokyo date only?🙄

Don't you stay with your brother when he's getting stitches while the rest of your brothers are either not allowed or chose not to be in the room?🙄

Don't you hike up a mountain to collect ice because your brother mentioned he liked ice?🙄

I'm tired of y'all twisting this brotherly relationship into something its not😤

The interesting thing about this is that I read that the last time the guys performed at that show, the official account of the show used the jikook and kookmin tags and was flooded with comments demanding that they remove it because it was disrespectful blah blah, in the end they removed it but so far I don't see anyone demanding that they remove this one. Fucking hypocrisy.

To me it’s very obvious when they interact that they don’t spend a lot of time together and don’t have a lot in common outside the band these days (which of course doesn’t mean they don’t love and respect each other). They’re simply not in tune at all. There are a couple of eps of Run where they are very obviously making an effort to be BEST BROS (I think 116-117, the ones where JK wears the green sweater are the most obvious ones) and it’s also very obvious that is not their normal. They constantly have to nudge each other to get each other’s attention to finish high fives/handshakes etc.

The thing is friendships change. They have ups and downs and sometimes you grow closer and sometimes you grow apart there’s nothing weird or scandalous about that. It’s healthy and normal.
