In honor of the founder of the Party
Luis Emilio Recabarren ended his life tragically on December 19, 1924. His death causes great shock and regret in the social and political movement, and in the people who take to the streets in a massive farewell to who was the main labor leader of recent decades. Testimony of this remains in the documentary “El Funeral de Luis Emilio Recabarren” by Carlos Pellegrín, in which the tour through the streets of Santiago can be seen, especially along Av. La Paz.
On May 21, 1989, in another historic moment, the Communist Party of Chile carried out a pilgrimage to the General Cemetery along the same route. They were the end of the dictatorship and the path towards the restitution of democracy in Chile.
