My new persona! ;o

This looks like two dogs in a kennel, Which it is. There's so much more to this picture than a snapshot offers. What you don't see is that these babies were rescued from the Korean dog meat industry where they grew up packed in dirty wire-floored cages where they could see and hear their fellow dogs subjected to torture. What you don't see is that they were flown across the Pacific, seen by a vet for the first time, given safe homes, good food, and affection. You don't see the months of waiting for Hugo (the black one) to have the courage to sniff us. You don't see our excitement when he finally trusted us to lay down on the sofa, to let us pet him. You don't see how Oscar (the gold one) has been learning that strangers aren't going to hurt him but scritch him in his favorite spots. You don't see the anxiety these babies had around kennels and cages, how we'd have to physically carry them and place them in when it was time for us to go to work, how they'd howl and cry. You don't see that it took me ten minutes and a few treats but they both walked in to this kennel today on their own, a little apprehension, but no fear, no crying, no shaking, calm and at ease. What you see is two puppies in a kennel twice the size they need so they can be together. I want to tell you that this is a victory. My foster rescues from the Korean meat trade are leaving me today 😭😩 They’ll be meeting their new beautiful family soon. Luckily my mom said she’d be okay with me helping out more babies soon tho! So look forward to more puppy pics !!
