It's @justanaspiringsomeone Prophey's birthday~ Made a lil art! I decided to also share another important supporting character I made that is close to the Prophet and as well as help quite a few characters of mine, mainly my hound/exile character.

His name's Jikan. Someone whom Prophey adopted ever since he was a baby that was left at their doorstep.

As the new flowers in Hell were starting to bloom, Jikan couldn’t stop observing them from a high peak. This realm was finally a comfortable and wonderful place to live…if you were a demon. He was never able to enjoy life as its fullest until he met Nymir, the demon that saved him from his previous…incarnation. He wished he could stay here all day but work had to be done and his break was over. When he came back in front of his office, right when he was about to enter, he was interrupted by the queen of Hell, Lilith herself. She was concerned about something.

- Hi Lilith. Is something the matter? (Jikan)

- Can you come with me? We have a situation in the Purgatory. (Lilith)

- Of course. Show me the way. (Jikan)

The duo reached the Purgatory. It was as full as always. It was there that mortal souls went once they died in the mortal realm. After that, it was decided whether or not they could go in Heaven, Hell or simply starting a new life in the mortal realm. Time had no meaning in this place. So, even though it was crowded, it never felt like billions of souls were there in the same time. Just hundreds of souls at a time.

Jikan followed Lilith as they were approaching two familiar faces; Ennor, the leader of the demons and also the one in charge in the Purgatory, and Sybil, an angel Jikan met when he was working on the Purgatory’s documents and archives.  Both of them were taking care of a young mortal soul. It was a child from what Jikan could tell. Ennor noticed Jikan and Lilith.

- Hello Boss, hello Jikan. Thank you for joining us. We have a problem with that little punk. (Ennor)

- You didn’t precise what was the problem but you asked me to bring Jikan. It is done, what’s going on? (Lilith)

As soon as she asked that question, Ennor looked at Sybil with a worrying face…which was unusual. Ennor was rarely worried unless it was very important. Sybil was also worried and was the one to speak.

- We don’t get why but…this mortal soul…this kid must be sent to Hell. (Sybil)

- WHAT?! (Lilith and Jikan)

- We reacted the same way when we received her document and soul. (Ennor)

- Can you give me the document? (Lilith)

While Lilith was looking at the kid’s afterlife document, Jikan approached her with a big comforting smile and with some flowers he kept from his break. He wanted to add them in his office but he didn’t have the time. In the meantime, the kid wasn’t afraid, she was also smiling.

- What’s your name? (Jikan)

- My name is Katie-Rose! You are a demon too? You look super-duper cute! Miss Ennor and miss Sybil were sweet to me. They gave me a hot chocolate and some biscuits. Even if they told me I don’t need to eat or drink for now, it was delicious! (Katie-Rose)

- You have such a cute and name Katie-Rose. You…you understand where you are, right? (Jikan)

- Oh gosh I do! But I didn’t expect to meet such lovely people after I passed away, I’m sad for my friends but it seems I’m meeting new ones! Do you want to be my friend? (Katie-Rose)

- That would be my pleasure! (Jikan)

- You have flowers! Can I take them? I will make us flower crowns! As a symbol of our friendship! (Katie-Rose)

- Can’t wait to wear mine! (Jikan)

While Jikan was keeping her busy, Ennor, Sybil and Lilith were studying Katie-Rose’s case. The worst part was it made no sense.

- I don’t understand, she died of cancer, a dangerous and awful mortal illness. And there is nothing in her backstory to suggest she should go to Hell. Actually, she has all the requirements to go to Heaven and she even has the possibility to become an angel. Why does it say she must go to Hell?! And even for…” bad” kids, they don’t go in the same areas in Hell as the adult souls. Is it a mistake when her soul was registered? Can’t we fix it? (Lilith)

- We tried, I contacted the archangels and even them agree it can only be a misunderstanding or an error somewhere. Last time that such thing happened, it was with the Gardener. From that point, we upgraded the system so such thing shouldn’t be possible! (Sybil)

- The little punk…have you read all her backstory? She is…I never met such a kind and sweet soul in years. Last one was…Jikan. (Ennor)

- What if…(Sybil)

- Yes, Sybil? Do you have an idea? (Lilith)

- From what I heard from Colan, Vylixia and Ennor, Hell became quite liveable and even a great place to live for demons. (Sybil)

- That’s true but where are you going with it?  (Sybil)

- What if They decided to reward all the demons by adding more kind souls in the mix? What if…like Jikan, the demons could get more and more kindness in their lives? Coming from outsiders, from kind mortals transforming into demons? (Sybil)

- You want to make that tiny punk, a demon? I mean, now that I think of it, the population of demon kids are so low and most of the kids are being protected from the adult demons. Maybe it’s time to diverse our activities and show our kind what it means to enjoy life…and not only from just hedonist activities. Becoming a parent was one of the best things in my eternity. Perhaps it’s time for each demon to fill some gaps. (Ennor)

The trio looked at Jikan and Katie-Rose, both of them were laughing and wearing some flower crowns. The human kid couldn’t stay in one place, she was energic and quite happy despite the circumstances.

- She could also help here. We have trouble with the youngest souls. Most of them are scared and panic when they realise where they are. Even the young angels are not enough to deal with them. A soul like her could be a good opportunity. (Sybil)

The queen of Hell sighed deeply. She didn’t like too much this situation. However, they had valid points. With a determined yet caring energy, she joined Jikan and Katie-Rose. The young soul noticed Lilith and offered her a flower crown.

- You get one too! You are a beautiful lady! (Katie-Rose)

- Thank you, sweetie~ (Lilith)

Lilith wore the crown with a smile. Then, she tried to be at Katie-Rose’s height to speak to her. With a neutral yet mature voice, she explained to the kid what was going to happen to her. Everything. Katie-Rose listened to Lilith carefully and with attention. When Lilith finished, she was expecting the worst reaction…

- Does it mean I can make flower crowns for other demons? I will have my own horns and tail! That’s so cool! Oh gosh, can I stay with Jikan? He is my new friend! That’s so exciting! (Katie-Rose)

The Queen was taken back by her reaction but she smiled in a motherly way. She caressed Katie-Rose’s hair. On the other hand, Jikan was smiling and happy a solution was found.

- Are you ready? I promise it’s painless. (Lilith)

The kid nodded but she still held Jikan’s hand while the queen was focusing. Suddenly, Katie-Rose felt both the same and different at the same time. Two horns and a tail appeared; her eyes changed slightly too. But what was curious was that some flowers were also present on her horns and tails. Lilith had never seen such thing before. Maybe Katie-Rose’s soul was manifesting itself through the flowers. Jikan created a mirror so she could look at her new form.

- Oh gosh, I look super-duper cool! I love it! (Katie-Rose)

- I’m glad, Nymir, Ennor and Jikan will be your caretakers until you reach your adulthood if that’s okay. (Lilith)

- That works for me! (Jikan)

- MORE FRIENDS! YES! BEST DAY EVER! (Katie-Rose)

She was running everywhere around the group. That was…a sweet thing to watch. Then she took a posture and made a sign to Jikan.

- Let’s go and bring joy! (Katie-Rose)

And now Lilith thought that maybe they would have to change their realm if such situations kept happening…which pleased her like the day she found Jeff.

On one of the discord servers I’m in, we had the pleasant time to share a few ideas between Jikan and Katie-Rose resulting in the creation of demon Katie-Rose! It gave me inspiration to write this! This is a surprise for @tymki who is amazing and awesome! Shout out to @abel-draws​ who designed demon Katie-Rose!

Yeah. It's the first one in three years to win an honorable mention in the awards. But as always, no other novel has gotten a grand prize. It's really hard to get on the same level as Violet Evergarden, lol.
