take me to church
@sleepy-struggles
It wasn’t that hard to find Jesus on a Sunday. His church wasn’t in Underland and Ty had never known J to miss a service. The ushers had given Ty a weird look as he slipped in well over halfway through the service. He had no idea what was actually going on, none of his music had prepared him for the reality of a Catholic Mass, but he found Jesus in the pews easy enough.
Trying very hard to stay quiet and inconspicuous, Tyler slid into a pew on the other side of the church from J and pulled out his sketchbook to keep himself busy. Staring at J all Mass wouldn’t help with the bundle of nerves in his stomach and the drawing would. Sure all he drew was J but that wasn’t exactly new for him.
He could feel his friend watching him, feel the gaze of all the patrons really, but on J’s gaze mattered. When Communion time came he respectfully shook his head to the usher and gestured at his cane.
Then Mass was over, and Jesus was walking over to him, and it was all so terribly real that Ty thought he might actually throw up from nerves. “Hi, J.” He said, cheeks already pink.
