So basically, the badass social justice nuns the Vatican gets cranky about need to schism and start their own version where everything is still austere and pretty but with TOTALLY RAD VIEWS and all the cool Catholics can hang out there.

FUN FACT: most people who were raised evangelical end up gravitating towards a church w/ a liturgy. BUT most people who were raised catholic drift away............ and then go BACK. basically catholicism is an incense-scented form of quicksand

One of my friends was raised Catholic but switched to liberal Episcopalian because it was all of the ritual with none of the jerkass dogma! (also her church had mimosas on Easter, which was a selling point) So that could be a thing to try?

i have considered that option lol and i've actually been to an episcopal mass, and it's.......it's hard to describe, but it felt almost Profoundly wrong to me??? not because i in any way look down upon or disrespect the religion oh god no, but BECAUSE it's so close to catholicism? even the words of the mass are so similar to those of the catholic mass that it's jarring to hear the differences; you're constantly reminded of the fact that it's NOT a catholic mass, which............hurt, for some reason
