Book Recs
Kushielâs Legacy by Jacqueline Carey. Itâs an epic fantasy series set in an alternate universe version of our world. The main character is a courtesan/spy who is cursed by a god to feel pain as pleasure. Thereâs a lot of BDSM in the series so that wonât be everyoneâs cup of tea, but if you like ASoIaF for the political intrigue & blending of history with fantasy, youâll probably enjoy it. There are 6 books in the main seriesâthe first one is Kushielâs Dart.
The Sunne in Splendor by Sharon Kay Penman. Historical fiction set during the Wars of the Roses, focusing particularly on Richard III. If youâre interested in learning more about the time period that inspired ASoIaF, this book is worth checking out. Itâs more historically accurate than Philippa Gregoryâs novels, though the view of Richard is perhaps a bit romanticized.

The enthusiasm you guys have for this series is really infectious. I know how hard it can be to keep that going in a small fandom, as I run a blog for a small fandom myself. I know exactly what it's like to have to search high & low for stuff to reblog or generate content myself because the fandom doesn't produce fanworks. Keep doing what you're doing!
